For those who are interested

the only people who complained last time were Keith and Shady

and of course the high-ranked players don't care for it, because they probably get a higher seed without it, they don't need the extra tourney experience, and won't go 0-2 in bracket, it wastes time for them, and they don't need to get their name and tourney records out there to get known/ranked.

but all those things benefit players who aren't at the top of the scene.

and it's not too much of an inconvenience anyways.

not throwing your opinions out, keith/shady/others, i really appreciate the input, but i want to try pools a couple more times. almost EVERY non-ranked player really appreciated them last time. that's my goal. i want it to be worth it for the new players. we need the scene to grow.

and the 3rd shouldn't be too inconvenient. it's a holiday, so potentially more people could come, as well. obviously some are going to be away, but it shouldn't be too bad, and summer attendance for most players should be easier.

if there's any low attendance, it's mostly the fact that venue confirmation took a while; so it only got announced a week-ish prior, instead of a few weeks. but i'll do my best to get it some publicity.

if you look at it like non-ranked players being middle class, and high ranked players being upper class. foxy did the same speech as obama.

Pools ****. I would have pools at every tournament if it were up to me. The only reason they take long is because our community is lazy and slow and doesn't play their matches asap like they should. And because we only ever have about 3-4 setups at brawl tournaments now days. Pools>friendlies in terms of experience points gained too. If you're complaining about pools then john moar. No offense to anyone but if you're upset about pools then bring a setup and change your own attitudes to alleviate the problems. There is nothing inherently wrong with pools like people seem to believe. They can only help our community grow and get better, which is what we need the most right now with mlg 2 months away. I don't know about you guys but I'd like to represent NC and prove we're not a state full of scrubs. Pools help the lower leveled players get more experience and get better. And in turn it makes the higher level players get better as well because the skill gap gets smaller. Consider it like an elevator and as the floor or lower leveled players rises, it makes the ceiling rise as well. We can only get better by playing against people that are better than us, so why not try to make everyone as good as possible. It will only help us in the long run.

tl;dr- no johns

ps: don't take this the wrong way guys I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything, I just want what's best for our community.
