been noticing hella brawl tourneys popping up lately; seems like everyone is in a rush for MLG Orlando..... *sigh* i wish i had a car.....

Lol, normal Brawl codesets that remove tripping do exist. Tripping is not even by a longshot the worst part of Brawl.

If only they got rid of accidental footstools and fixed FD's edge... hrm...

Brawl is up there because more people watch Brawl. More people = more money. MLG is fun to watch (Halo, WoW, etc) but I don't take that that serious. It's a good place to make money if you want to enter the circuit.

If you want serious stuff, watch ESL and oversea gaming leagues. Competitive Starcraft is pretty intensive. WoW arena is also a pretty good game to watch.

I've played at least 1000 hours of brawl since it came out and I've probably played less than 10 matches where the outcome was determined by tripping. Accidental footstools cause more havoc than tripping hands down, hundreds of matches have been determined by those.

no its mad random, like people take it waaaaayyy out of porportion, i have never lost or won a match due to tripping. ever. and yea i play wario, but when i mained snake i was on the ground most of the fights, its not really that big of a deal.

I have to disagree, Brawl being on MLG is going to be horrible for the Brawl community in the end.

The initial frame of the dash animation has a ONE% chance to cause a trip. The only time you can trip is at the beginning of your dash, you'll never trip once you're actually running. That's why dash dancing makes you trip more, because you're taking a 1% chance each time you change directions which should be a fairly good amount if you're any good.

In NC, we're one. Overall, we're separated. MLG isn't good for the 'Smash Community', it's good for Brawl kids. Soon it will end, and I will at you all and say "I told you so!" Not to mention, MLG picking up Brawl means nothing special other than more Brawl tourneys, and a slow death of Brawls grassroots scene. Your big tourneys are going to disappear soon in anticipation of MLGs, and they'll fail you.

Also @ Dorsey, keith's right, Wario never trips, since you should never be on the ground when playing as him.

Thanks rag, NOW I get it. The lack of a WD causes me to want to over-use dashdance a little as marth(who I was playing when it happened) so that's understandable.
