I don't care if you go to the psychologist for it foxy. You still sounded like a fairly naive individual that apparently takes what his psychologist says way too literally, because for all you know I could see a 'specialist' for that condition as well. Psychology, meteorology, and (i can't think of any more at the moment) are some of the only studies that you get paid for even being wrong. Both psychologists and psychiatrists have a Phd in horse**** but at least a psychiatrist will write you off some drugs.

actually, psychology introduces a lot of chemistry, biology, and clinical trials

and you could say sociology, economics, anthropology, literature, etc get paid to be wrong.

but more accurately, they get paid, and sometimes they're wrong

lol wtf @ Dorsey.

science in general works to disprove hypotheses. it never claims an ultimate truth, it just tries to get as close as possible. respect that ****.

Getting paid for 'even being wrong'. Doesn't mean that they're wrong all the time, or even wrong half the time--or even 10% of the time for that matter(just proving how much you guys took that out of context) Psychology is the study of the human psyche... Yes there's a lot of chemical/electrical/scientific **** involved, but that doesn't change that much of a psychologist's profession is bull****. I've taken up to 300-level psychology courses, yes a lot of it's interesting, but I have sat through every class and have my teacher say something that is just 100% wrong. Even mistakes with the science involved.

Aside from the stuff about the mind that we know is true, consider the approach taken when doing the older, landmark studies in psychology--50's-70's, random selection of people, put in front of a camera to record observations--WAIT.....does ANYONE act the same, or normal, when their put in an awkward situation, AND in front of a camera? No. If you guys are even somewhat familiar with psychology you will know about the countless studies I'm talking about that were done this way... and this is just 1 example of why a good portion of it is full of ****.

I'll be happy to own any of you in this discussion, especially the know it all emo kid foxy, being that i'm not wasted now.

why do you think psychology deserves to be in a special category of wrong/bull**** sometimes? as i've mentioned, there are endless fields based on speculation, not the least of which is theoretical sciences

also, it depends on how you define bull****. you act as if these psychology professionals spout bs all day. 99% of their opinion is founded on sound logic and scientific backing.

you talked about a teacher being wrong at some point during a college course on psychology and then referenced experiments that are old as Truman's presidency to back up the argument that psychology is bull****. nice.

and congrats on not being wasted during that whole lovely thing.

Nah rome I don't think that. And I agree with your other post, including this one. I'm just really stressing the point being that you were the only one who seemingly understood what I was saying. It's not in a real special category or anything, even aside from doing the disingenuous experiments that I just described... they're just plain wrong in a lot of cases. There are so many cases, but here is one that I recall specifically--I had a psychology teacher at UNC-W that was very known for her work and had published/written several books. She was talking about sensation one day and made the example: 'if you're sweating in a 98F degree air temp and jump in low-80F degree water, the water will be relieving and feel cool...(which is right).... just like if you were to be in 50F degree air temp, and jumped into 65F degree water it would feel warmer, even though that water is kind of cold'--I LOL'd to myself when I heard that 2nd part.... Yes, it's a small mistake but ****... everyone in that classroom was mislead, you'd expect more is all i'm saying. and this was just an example.....

+I gave an example CJ love, sorry it took more than a few seconds.. as I said I was referring to 2 different things. And wtf, why so angry? I should charge rent for the amount of space I own in your head son.

I said it was just 1 example that was easily recalled. I said that there was many more examples, but I was only listing one..because that I don't ****ing feel like it. I used to live in chapel hill (ace told me your a freshman there) and let me just say that there's some psych professors that have a phd in bull**** there as well.

I'm not saying that all of them suck dude. But in regards to your last post, even if it was just 1, all it takes is 1 to give people(hundreds to thousands of people) some wack information.

edit: first day of psych class at carolina 'everyone put one finger on your side and one finger on your head.... ok... do you feel the energy running through your body right now?'

..............................................................

Anyway, after re-reading this I've come to the conclusion that ya'll were just misinterpreting what I said. Of course I don't think the concepts of psychology involving chemical induced electrical reactions in the brain are bull****. I'm referring to psychologists.... and when I made the comment about 'at least a psychiatrist will write you some drugs' I imagined that ya'll would have known to not take my post completely to heart. I just felt like clarifying my point when I saw foxy say 'i thought you were smart'...lol. Other than him being a dumb**** opposed to actually refuting my post with his endless knowledge of psychology I didn't even feel like it was worth arguing.

well yeah. i was just trying not to let you say "all psychologists get paid wrongly", that was sort of the rash generalization i was seeing. then the evidence was weird. but yeah, i feel your experiences some extent.

i'm just rather confused as to why dorsey thinks i'm the know-it-all when he's basically saying he knows more about any subject than i do.

all i said was that i definitely know more about autism, because i'm autistic to a degree (which was the only point of referencing the psychologist). gee, that makes sense, doesn't it?

wendy's triple

wait, how old is dorsey anyways?

someone gave me the impression that he was 16.

if that's not true, then i think we know why this argument is happening

lol misinformation

lol, that was a joke cj. I think everyone was being sassy with me before I even said that though to begin with. Next time think before you sas or things could get dangerous...<3 ;)

I called you a know-it-all foxy because you said you guaranteed that you know more about the subject than me, a 16-year old with little experience in life, when all information about the subject at hand came from your personal psychologist. Coming across like that attitude with someone older than you doesn't fly very well, just fyi for future reference. I was just discrediting this being that if you wholeheartedly believe everything that they say then that is a mistake, period. You said this assuming that I don't have the condition(I might.. still haven't said that) and I also _never_ even said that I know more about than you. That's what YOU did. So, I decided to discredit your psychologist by saying that not everything that comes out of his mouth, diagnosis included, is a certainty. I also decided to discredit what you said, being that you made the aforementioned assumptions about me....

edit: and foxy man.... this 'having autism to a slight degree' is an example of the bs I was talking about! I am NOT saying that it is in your case, but there are MANY people that receive a bogus diagnosis like that(having something, 'to a degree'..). Sometimes it's legit.

I'm in my 4th year of college foxy, lol. and I refused to get moved up a grade in ms/hs(sounds like what you did since your at ncstate) so I'll be 22 in 5 months.

haha, i see we both agree about the age confusion.

clearly we got off on the wrong foot if i thought you weren't older than me and not even in college, but were telling me about how little i know

anyways, like i said, i only referenced the psychologist because i was suggesting that i had the condition. i'm just as skeptical of psychologists as you are, if not more, and almost nothing that i know about autism comes from him. i rarely take anything he says seriously, even if he's pretty good.

btw, i don't know very much, i don't think any 16 year old knows much, and i'm certainly not a know-it-all. i'm no genius.

lol @ a 16 year old 'guaranteeing'/assuming that he knows more about something than me
by the way, the only purpose of this statement is to tell me that i'm wrong and to point out that i DON'T know more about it than you.

i really don't know why you're trying to say that you never claimed to know more.
