Okay, only one for now, I've gotta go, but yeah, when you haven't taken drawing seriously or realy done any serious work since the year of 2000, you just aren't as good as you used to be...and that's me.

Anyways, I had a picture of myself and drew and sketched out an anime ver of myself, this took around 20 minutes to do since I did it during my boring class...lol, anyways, have fun with it.

ME

Ps: I don't color (Anymore), I only like to pencil and I do inking sometimes...I just no longer have the passion for drawing like I did 7 yrs back.

Is it just me, or have I seen that face before..........
Lol, maybe you know my cousin then, because the guy sketch, I made that character after my cousin and used him as a reference, since his hair is like that, dresses like that, and even wears glasses like that. If your talking about the female, I honestly don't know, since she's just completely made up by me.

Anyways, thanks for the replies.

Your style reminds me of my own. I've always been striving to perfect a style that blends realism with and anime influence. However, I can rarely refrain from shading obsessively...

I love how clean those lines are. When I draw, I leave a lot of sketchy lines everywhere and it looks messy. Also, proportions are hard for me when I'm not very concentrated. This stuff is great.

So.. how do you start off a drawing? Do you start with outlines, or do a rough sketch, or a stick figure? I wanna try out a few new starting options because the way I do things now takes quite a bit of time and has bare bones results.

It really depends, most of the time, I'll start by drawing the hair and from there I'll do the face and everything downward...that's usually when I'm lazy and um...90% of the time of how I draw. The other 10% is when I actually use shapes to get my figure out, and then I draw it out.

For example, the "anime" version of me from my first post in here is where I just started to draw from the hair downward without using shapes, or my Lazy Method. However the female sketch that I drew, I actually used shapes for her, which is my more Patient Method.

For the most part, I am no longer as good as I once was, I've only started to draw more within the last two years. Back in say...2000 I could doodle out a whole sketch and have the entire body frame right, however now a days, I can't even do the upper half right without erasing or going over it numerous times.

For me, it's more of a feeling, I have to be in the mood to draw, and I have to really want it, otherwise my drawings will turn out like complete garbage...well...at least in my standards they will. Hope that explains somethings, and I'll post up some other sketches soon whenever I'm not lazy that is :p

Haha, sounds like how I do things. The thing is, I've recently been trying to force myself to draw with the shaping and all that... and I think I've given myself a case of "artist's block" in that I can't get into the feeling of drawing anymore. My ideas are mediocre, my art turns out bad. I just don't feel satisfied. I used to be big on drawing, but I am probably still at the tip of the iceberg so far. I haven't taken drawing seriously for the past two or three years. Even though I used to draw more, my technical skills as of now are better than a few years ago. The only thing is that I feel I improved at a faster rate a few years ago. I guess practice makes perfect or something, and when you are doing something you like, you will improve without even noticing it. I just hope I can get back into shape because I just passed the entry audition for an art school that I will be going to this coming September. I don't want to have lost all of my "talent" before I get there. :(

I just doodled this out a few minutes ago, lmao, it took 11minutes and 23 seconds to draw out, hope you guys enjoy it, looks very sloppy though.

It's a drawing of Link from Zelda obviously, however I was just doodling it from memory, so I don't remember how his clothing, hair, and shield looked like, I just kind of did whatever, but yeah, have fun with it, lol.

Some more random ones, this one is a drawing of characters from my book, I am still working and changing their attires, so what they are wearing now is not 100%

Lastly, here's another one of two characters I created, this one I messed up on, but oh well, who's perfect eh?

Some more again,

The two central characters from my book, yet once again in modern day clothing

Ps: I mess up really bad in this picture, but only after I had finished it, I was too lazy to go back and fix everything up, so yeah, it ain't perfect, but whatever.

A very important character from my book, I apologize for not showing the entire piece of him, since I have been particularly protective of work that officially pertains to my book lately.

Hope you all enjoy,

Sephiros

Some more random garbage, this was a drawing I did way back when I was 17 years old (I'm in my mid-late 20's now). This is a sketch drawing of one of the leading females from my book, however obviously this sketch I've thrown out now, since I have a more up to date version of how she looks like now, and with obviously better looking attire, haha.

Even to this day, I'm still wondering over as to why I drew a huge "paw like" glove for her right hand, I guessing it was just the flow of things, so I decided to to do so.

Anyhow, here it is...

When I'm not lazy I'll post up more of my junk again.

Your drawings are completely fantastic, drawn quickly or not you have amazing talent. Your people are great, you capture the anime/realism look perfectly, and it looks extremely professional :)

The Girl from your book drawing on the first page is one of my favorites. It has a fashion design drawing look to it.
Also, the one below, reminds me of Enishi from Rurouni Kenshin.

Pure awesomeness. These just looks astounding to the eye, just looking at the correct perspectives, realism and proportions are just dazzling. I especially like the hair; I could see the separate strands without focusing too much on them. You also create new art at a reasonably well pace. Keep up the great work, I will look forward of seeing more of these.

Here's another one, and another character from my book, but obviously I put him in modern day clothing, rofl. I can't seem to find the full body picture sketch atm, and this is all I have, so here's the preview of it.

I drew this one in 2004 or 05, one of those years, I can't remember, so here it is.

This is another one of the main male and female from my book again! Tada! All sketches as usual...(the real sketches for my book I am closing them to the public, sorry).

Again, if these are too big, and someone wants me to shrink the images I will re-edit them for your convenience.

Lastly, I would like to thank everyone who's been replying, and much appreciation to all of you. I will continue to post up whenever I'm not lazy, again, I've actually got some new sketches, however I'll need to re hook that old scanner of mine to get them in, so I can post them up...which will happen sometime...hmm...:dizzy:

looking at the Link sketch, i think it's amazing. I love it :D I have something similiar, but I had a reference picture and it took me way more than 11mins.
The only thing that I noticed that was (for wont of better word) wrong, is that you made Link right-handed. he is, in fact, left-handed, but it's no big deal, i just alwys notice those things :p

Man all of these are great.

<3 the Link, it looks great but the time it took you + from memory, was astonishing. I would never be able to do something like that from memory, I would have to take a look at them...no matter how familiar a character could be.

Haven't been on for awhile now, lol, however, here's one from last December...

It's a sketch I did for a girl I know, a showing of a "what if" moment, basically her taking me by the hand and going Christmas shopping...the height between her and I are about correct, however some of my proportions are wrong, but oh well.

Anyhow, hope you all have fun with this one

Another one, this time, from my book, the lead male protagonist and female with him stealing a kiss from her :embarrass

I've actually done alot of new recent ones, with much higher quality, however they are on extremely large sheets of paper, making them impossible to scan, so you'll have to due with these, lmao.

Thought I'd post an old sketch I did all those years ago back in 2006

I drew this for the memory of when I used to play Ragnarok Online, I was a Knight and Guild Leader of the 3rd Strongest Guild on the entire server, we rocked hard and it was fun. Here's a drawing of my Male Knight, next to a trusted female Knight of my Guild. To this very day she's still a close and cool friend.

Fun times, and I guess my favorite part is the Poring I added in the background

Super bump lol.

Just took a look at some of these man, these are really good at the risk of stating the obvious. You got human anatomy down really well, and you adjust line thickness effectively too. You have a pretty realistic style in your drawings.

I can't stand to see sketches go uncolored though

Lol, I apologize but I'll never color for the life of me, I've always been pretty much a pencil, eraser, and paper purist, I rarely ever, ever color, that's just me though.

I "could" probably have someone color it for me, since I know a few peeps, so we'll see, but yeah, personally, I'll never color.
