I remember people telling me stories how they would go there a get a Happy Meal and be disappointed when they got a boy's toy, I think there were transformers at the time. They'd ask to exchange it for a pony and managers would mention that a few other dudes would ask the same thing.

Some McDonalds let you buy the full set of toys if you want. It's really cool.
