no to munchlax. snorlax's fanbase doesnt affect munchlax's fanbase. they are 2 different pokemon. you think it does because munchlax is a form of snorlax? look at raichu. its a form of the pokemon mascot but that doesnt give it a huge fanbase. besides, is munchlax significant to any games? also, what would its moves be? it doesnt even have any significant moves. they wouldnt add a character and give it a random moveset that has nothing to do with it. munchlax can use special attacks like flamethrower? so can mewtwo and jigglypuff. it doesnt mean they will use them, because those moves have nothing to do with those pokemon. the only moves munchlax is known for is rest and snore. why would we want a character using those moves? besides, jigglypuff already uses rest.

you know absolutly nothing
no one said anything about snorelax effecting munchlax's popularity. the thing is that in japan, munchlax is a pokemon mascot. Munchlax has appeared in multiple movies as well as the anime. May's munchlax is very powerful knowing moves like metronome, solarbeam, and focus punch.

auctually, this guy stated that it should be in because snorlax is everyones favourite pokemon.... so you auctually just contradicted yourself... mays munchalx is powerful? so is ash's charizard, and ash is the protaginist. that doesnt give him much of a chance though. what people think is a mascot in japan shouldnt effect what we want here.

No one really cares about the characters anime popularity, especially Sakurai. He doesn't want thing based on animes. So if Muchlax is gonna be in, he has to be in based on the new pokemon, whatever it is.

I really think Munchlax has a great chance to be in Brawl. He is about the right size, no extreme power, and is one of the most popular of the new pokemon (pretty much tied with Lucario, if not higher). However, I don't think the movesets the poster made fit him that well. I'm thinking more like:
B: Swallow - Could be like Kirby's B attack, but instead of copying the foes attack, he could just walk around a little bit then spit him out. Sort of like Donkey Kong's throw.
Up B: Headbutt - Think of the animation start sort of like a triple jump, but he has his head out ready to deal some damage. You would be able to control the length and direction a little bit sort of like Yoshi's Eggs.
Smash B: Not really sure about this one, but what about like a fury swipes kinda thing that would be like Bowser's smash B (without grabbing possibilities), and continuable like Marth's smash B.
Down B: Two possibilities for this one: Rest - Like Jigglypuff's, but stronger + more delay or Body Slam - Pretty much like Bowser or Yoshi's Down B, but stomach first

I SERIOUSLY SUPPORT MUNCHLAX FOR BRAWL!!!

Snorlax is my fav pokemon, even though I no longer play the series. But having a faster version of Snorlax? Just too flipping cool.

In the windows on your street. . . . watching.
I can see munchlax as a playable character but the only problem with him would be that he's farely new. this game basicly has been made there just puting in the finishing touches .So he may well have a low chance at being on the game.My hopes are still up.

Out of those, only Swallow and Body Slam are move Munchlax can learn. Zen Headbutt is an Egg Move, which can thus only be learned by Munchlax when breeding. Rest is a TM move. Fury Swipes can't even be learned by Munchlax.

My suggestion:

B: Swallow
> B: Lick (can cause paralysis)
^ B: Fling (a random item can be thrown down, which disappears when hitting the ground, causes an upwards movement for Munchlax)
v B: Body Slam (with the addition of a short bounce, and controllable)

I support munchlax! I think he stands a better chance than most of the other 3rd generation pokemon, because he appeared in Pokemon Dash long before the arrival of diamond and pearl.

*moddified moveset*

Neutral B- Spit Up: This move works in conjunction with the other special moves (Except Up B) by using the power of any stockpiled food. Basically, with Forward B, this move charges up. With no charge, a tiny puff of air will come out, similar to one Kirby would attack with in his games. It does poor damage, low knock back, and a small range. When charged with a stockpiles though, all of its attributes increase. At its most powerful, it is slightly stronger than Samus’s charge shot.

Forward B- Stockpile: Munchlax takes out a piece of food, and puts it in his mouth. This can be done three times before Munchlax’s mouth is full. It doesn’t take much time, but it does leave you open for a bit, and if hit, the stockpiled food will drop to the ground, and then turn into a normal food item. (Which can be picked up by either character, but Munch won’t use it for his stockpile, rather just recover health)

Up B- Zen headbutt: A fairly basic recovery move, where Munchlax is launched into the air through psychic powers (it is a psychic move) The move actually has two launches instead of one, basically making it a slower and more powerful version of Pikachu’s quick attack. The length of the jumps are also smaller, but since it’s slower, it’s much easier to direct the second jump.

Down B- Swallow: Munch swallows whatever he has stockpiled, regaining health proportionate to what he has. The move is risky though, due to the length at which it takes him to swallow the food. With one stockpile, he will eat it fairly quickly, but with all three, it will take him a good few seconds. If he’s hit in that state, he’ll lose all of his food currently stockpiled.

Final Smash- Body Slam: It’s his dad’s move, as Munchlax jumps up into the air, and then comes back down as a giant version of himself. He doesn’t fall down to the bottom of the screen though, and will bounce off whatever platform he was on, getting progressively smaller, with each bounce, eventually returning to his normal size. It should probably be noted that after getting the Smash Ball, he can position himself for his take off.

That's a good move set, if Munchlax makes it in.

the new jiggly

B belly drum- munchlax will start using his belly as a drum creating an attack similar to dks v b but stronger also causes damage to himself depending on how much time b is held ( i dunno umm 1-3 damage per second)

>B pound- similar to jigglys except instead of being able to recover using multiple pounds he can only use it once to get a boost (marios cape)

v B rest nuff said

^ B solar beam munchlax will shoot downwards causing himself do go upwards great vertical recover, not so great horizontally his beam can also do some damage

fs- hyper beam- similar to mario finale and zero laser but afterwards he will be out of energy and not be able to attack for a few second similar to the after effect of a rest

his chances have decreased though
Chances dont decrease since the roster was decided a while ago(cant remember if its a year or two). But anyway if he was locked in his chance is around 100% if he wasnt his chance is around 0%.
So really the chances cant increase and decrease before.
