Aww, that's too bad. But, as others have stated, that's +5 for Lucario, so it's not all bad. Except for those of you who really wanted Munchlax in.

the apperance of munchlax in this game doesnt mean the 4th gen will be in brawl.
he was realesed alerady in 2006.
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Munchlax is 4th gen! So even if Munchlax were the only 4th gen Pokemon in Brawl, that confirms that 4th gen Pokemon are in Brawl!!!

Also, Drifloon is in the background on Pokemon Stadium 2.

Agreed about poor Munchlax.. i just don't see how this makes Lucario's chances seem better. If anything it decreases, two of the probably most wanted Pokemon turned into Pokeballs. Looks like he's next.

*ahem* If I can interrupt the mourning for Munchlax for a second, I'd like to talk about his new role in the game.

I've got a feeling that there might be more to this hungry little fellow then just what's been revealed.

We know Munchlax eats any item he comes in contact with, and we can assume he doesn't stop after just one; as Sakurai said "It’s kind of hard to tell it to stop, though."

Now we can assume two things could happen after Munchlax chows down.
1. He fades away like any pokemon (or drops off the board)

or

2. He causes some sort of effect after he's eaten a certain amount

I'm betting that after Munchlax has eaten some items he will evolve into Snorlax. Who will then deliver his traditional massive attack to the board.

Also we did just get the Pokemon evolution music at the end of the Pokemon Stadium theme, which seemed a little confusing as stage music.

Finally Snorlax is one of those pokemon who got to be in both 64 and Melee, I'd like to think he has the staying power for Brawl.

I think you maybe onto something here.

BTW I think the evolution music plays when the game time goes below a certain amount, Like MK & MK2 in Melee.

I think he just eats whatever items he passes by and then disappears.

Why does this Improve Lucario chances? This just confirms that Jiggs is in Brawl.

How does this confirm that Jigglypuff is in Brawl. The reason why people are mentioning that Lucario's chances have risen it that both of his main competiors to take his spot have both been pokeball'd.

If you could elaborate based on the Munchlax update alone how it confirms Jigglypuff I'd be greatful.
