I’m going to say no.

Although Legendary cut ties with WB, they’ll still work together on future Dune and Monsterverse films.

And here's the other hural though I just might be being pessimistic in his chances.

Given Toho's strange rule guidelines when it comes to films regarding Godzilla such as "not eating on-screen" or "showing any emotions" (Godzilla chuckling in GvK was Wingard managing to sneak that in). You don't think they might be against him being downsized as well as feeling characters like Shaggy being equal to him in power?

Guess my thinking assumed that WB owned the Dune IP film rights due to the 2 already released films.

With the first season having a villains theme along with Jason Voorhees i think Freddy Krueger had a very good chance to appear

Eh, is he owned by WB? Cause he can give jason a run for his money on licensing nightmares

Besides, if we just completley focus on the characters that have been only teased, then he's unlikely for at least the first 3 seasons.

What's his licensing issue? Part of me thinks if they're putting in Jason, it's only a matter of time before they get Freddy in there.

Speculation is gonna be remarkably unfun if ideas are shut down because it's not a teased character.

Assuming that Seasons always take 8 months, and the "Character every two weeks" thing is accurate, and it all somehow works, here's a guess at how it could turn out. To be clear, there isn't a "Week 8" character because that's the start of the next season's Week 0.

3 quick takeaways:

1. Jason can force opponents into a sleeping bag.

2. Jason can do a grab then stab opponents multiple times.

3. Über Jason is a skin (Jason X)

Quick edit: For those wanting to avoid select spoilers, be aware some places are posting gameplay from the final release.

There is one thing I will technically spoil since it was effectively in the trailer:

The new voice actors for Rick and Morty are in the credits, basically confirming the two will receive new voice lines and scrubbing Justin Roiland’s lines from the show.

Townsville stage is pretty elaborate. Mojo Jojo has voice lines specific to the characters fighting

There is one other spoiler that feels noting:

The support class appears to be no more.
Gizmo, Reindog, and Velma are now Mages
Steven is now a Tank

From what I understood from the Beta:
Assassins are combo oriented and quick, but have little team synergy.
Bruisers are Jack of All Trades
Mages are more specialized in Ranged combat/setting up traps
Tanks are heavyweights

Because in Scooby Doo, the villains are usually weirdos in masks who are otherwise harmless. The joke is that Velma was comparing Jason to a Scooby villain when he is in fact an actual killer.

Honestly the removal of the Support class makes sense to me. Gearing and balancing the characters specifically toward 2v2s made them super underpowered in 1v1s, which hurt them overwhelmingly compared to the glass cannon Assassins in 2v2s.

Plus, Mage is pretty much this game's classification for zoners, and Gizmo, Velma, and Reindog were already zoners anyway. Meanwhile Steven's whole thing was making shields, so he naturally fits as a Tank.
