I still haven't gotten the Jason costume yet, but I've been able to beat the challenge rift on Insanity difficulty most of the time, and Challenging difficulty has been pretty easy. (I haven't unlocked the highest difficulty yet) So far, it seems fair, and with a limited number of prizes, the odds of unlocking it get better if you stick with it.

Also, the latest update fixed the problem that I was having with online matches, so there's that. I'm glad that I used the newest event currency to get Shaggy's winter outfit (the one where he's wearing winter clothes, rather than the ice-themed one), as that felt like it speeds up the process.

Is there any sort of pattern as to how long it takes for them to reveal a new season/character after the last one?

It took me a bit longer to get the skin (I needed about 90-100 chests, I forgot) but yeah, this wasn’t anywhere near bad as we expected. I feel for the people who are going to get unlucky and aren’t going to get it until the last 5 or so chests, though.

I’m not sure, I’d have to go back and check. But, they tend to wait until pretty close to the release of something to reveal it, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t reveal anything until the week before the new season.

Yeah iirc usually they announce the new characters in the week before the new season (that would be somewhere in the week of January 27), and then the big stream where they showcase the first character moveset and the battle pass is the day before the season start (so should be February 3).

I think I’m done with the game once the seasons over. I’m not enjoying it anymore. I only have a few levels left on my BP, so I’ll probably grind out the last levels this weekend and then shelf it.

I'm willing to hold on longer, but I need to see who the next season's characters are I guess. Every season since 2 has had someone I've wanted or at least been interested in.

Could be, Player first games is located in LA, but with remote work and stuff I don't think it will be affected too much.

Genuinely I doubt the game will still be alive by the time the Switch 2 comes out, and even assuming it is I'm not sure if ressources are going to be big enough for a Switch 2 port.

It took until I got over half of the rewards (I think I was at 180/300 of the chests), but I got the new Jason costume yesterday. I'm glad that the developers made it so it could theoretically be unlocked on any difficulty, rather than making it so it could only be unlocked on the highest difficulty.

Another thing that I like about how the developers have handled unlockables is that they're giving more than enough time to complete the battle passes before moving on to new ones. I completed the latest battlepass with several weeks left to go, which takes away the fear of missing out.

This being the first month since relaunch with no character has certainly been felt. I know it's coping but I hope the next season has three characters to make up for it.

It feels so weird having basically no event right now until the end of the season for what I think is the first time since the game relaunched? Yes, there’s stuff in the Events tab, but, like, there aren’t even any boosted skins right now.

I’d love if we got 3 characters next season but I’m definitely not expecting it, due to Christmas vacation slowing down development.

The game was trending and the reason why was because WhyDo, who posted the "Lebron James Smash Bros is a very evil but fun mess" video, revealed that researching all of the laws the game broke inspired him to apply to law school, and now he got in. So he thanked the game for being so evil that it altered the course of his life for the better.

I mean most of the "big" criticsim videos, including WhyDo's own, are from several months ago. From the looks of things, those that wanted to say their piece did so and stopped playing the game.

Granted, I don't actively look for MVS content but of the handful of videos on it I've seen including Why, Rock, Del, etc. they've all been pretty fair to it.

I know it sucks when people are negative about something you enjoy but again, in all fairness, I would argue most of the criticisms are fair even if you have people on Sm who don't exactly express that in the most civil way.

All I can really recommend is to not get too caught up in social media and the like. If you're still having a good time with MVS just keep doing your dailies and getting your matches in like normal. Enjoy what you can while it's still around. Regardless of how many seasons anyone thinks it has left, it is a GAAS title. So, don't sweat the small stuff and play your game.

Leaking that is one thing, but leaking it out of spite because you didn't like the character choice for one season is absolute dog**** behavior.
I don't know what it is about MVS, but it might straight up have the most entitled fanbase out of all the modern Platfighers. Like good god these people.

Nakat is the only one as far as I’m aware. And even then none of his posts are related to Multiversus, not even Marceline’s release got a quick “oh btw Marceline is out now” post.

Ah, in that case it's probably best not to bother him unless he actually asks to be given suggestions.
I was hoping the official accounts and devs would have all made the jump over to Bluesky since """X""" is a hazardous waste dump of a platform and they'd probably find a friendlier community there than the official "complain about everything" app. The Facebook and Instagram pages seem a lot less active so no real point to going there either.

I've locked my Twitter accounts and have no intent of ever going back. Not even the possibility of getting to occasionally drop hints about characters I want to accounts that might actually look at them is worth it. If anything, this new dip**** leaker is most likely going to sever ties between the devs and the fans for good.

It's weird because with Marceline, it was right out in the open in a public twitter thread. Just straight up "Hey everyone, what are some Marceline outfits?".
