I've seen chain used as a meta-jank edgeguard, it catches people so offguard they forget to up-b again

I don't really like threads like this. A lot of moves have situational usefulness. Discouraging people from experimenting with new stuff is dumb.

The thing is...a lot of people have listed a lot of moves they haven't used, then been rebutted by others with a way to use it. Almost like a little learning experience lol

yeah, i agree that it's a learning experience. i'd agree that samus's upsmash is pretty bad tho. i takes way too long. most of the time when i use it, i was trying to utilt. of course, like the other bad moves mentioned, it can be situationally useful. like to kinda traps spacies or to through off up oppenent and hope they get caught since the move lasts so long.

i think the point of saying u wouldnt use a move is that the move is so situational that it is very difficult to use it in the right situation. also, that on many occasions there is a better move for the situation. my 2 cents

I kinda made this tread with the purpose of letting other top players explain why certain moves in certain situations can be very useful. For example, with what Kage just said, using Ganon's Nair at low percentage is very good.

When would you ever be able to tipper an f-tilt against a jiggs?
I dunno. Haven't pulled it off yet. Maybe as a rest punish if they're in the middle of the stage, where nothing else will kill her? (even though I'm sure something could)

The worst move in the game ironically hasn't even been posted yet. It's Ness's down-B. Closely followed by G&W's down-B.

Fox/Falco fair falco's fair does massive damage when used correctly (see remen's matches)
Jiggs Rollout true, it's punishable
Sheik chain edgeguarding, it works against pretty much every character in this way :c
Falcon Kick anywhere besides recovery true, although some people use it as mindgame
Ganon nair it does good damage, just like falcon's nair

/thread
My list:
Marth's f-tilt
Shiek's f-smash (although i've killed with it 1-2 times)
DK's f-tilt
Peach's f-tilt
Ganon's side-b

Ur kidding right? Every one of those moves are great in certain circumstances...(sheiks forward smash is debatable tho)

Why f-tilt if you can f-smash?
Ganon's side-b gets punished hard if it misses.
LOOOOOOOOOOOL best quote

also, as a highly experienced ganondorf main, i can attest that you're slightly correct, but that's why you can't be a ****ing idiot while using it. you have to know when to use it. when you do, you'll **** *****es up.

Just because something is punishable doesn't make it bad. Jiggs' Rest is arguably the most punishable attack in the game, but nobody is even close to calling that unusable. Instead, it is a matter of reward vs consequence. Sheiks chain takes FOREVER to come out and be put back up, does very low damage and knockback, and is simply outclassed by like every other move. That's an unusable move (generally don't give me that super gimmick ****).

Also in regards to your list:

Marth ftilt: don't know much about Marth, don't really know of any ftilt that is bad enough to be unusable.
DK ftilt: see: Marth ftilt
Peach ftilt: see: Marth ftilt
Ganon side b: wut
