Mortarslide Counters

Is there any way on earth to counter that bloody mortarslide? I know some of you snake players don't want anyone to end your bread and butter, but in all fairness, if you aren't willing to reveal the weakness of your glitch, isn't that unfair? Regardless, I've searched all over the place. Either it has no weaknesses, or the snake players are doing a good job keeping it underwraps.

What can stop the dreaded mortarslide?

I use Yoshi, with secondaries Toon Link and Lucario, and GW in reserve.

im pretty sure yoshis egg throw will stop it or even lucarios aura sphere. TL im thinking boomerang i think bombs will stop it too.

falcos reflector is the main one that can stop mortarslide

Pick Marth/Ike and use Down+B

Seriously though, projectiles will hit Snake out of mortarslide, use those.
In addition, luc's fsmash and maybe yoshi's grab can get him too.

Just see it coming and predict...Then do something about it.

Do people really have problems with this tactic still? It's pretty obvious when Snakes are gonna do it most of the time >_>

throw a projectile, grab (or pivot grab), or just attack him out of it. If its the timing you're messing up on then that's your own fault =p

you can simply attack a snake, which uses mortar slide, if your attack has got enough range
(its much easier than hitting a meta out of his tornado)

and you can shield + grab/turnaround grab the snake out of it

as snake mortar slide isnt easy to hit, that you wont get hit

A single uncharged paralyzer shot does the trick.

This is the easiest way with most of your mains.

For G&W, predict and judgement hammer. You have no idea how funny it is to have them DACUS into a 9...

That, or Fsmash (lasts a long time with a disjointed hitbox)

Yoshi, Fsmash works as well. Dsmash works. Egg works. Pivot Grab works...

If DACUS is giving you problems, I'd hate to see you go up against a GOOD Snake.

umm shield grab? this is why i only use it as an approach once in a blue moon, cause it can be punished by everyone if they smell it coming. i only really use it as a follow up attack...

The Mortarslide should be the LEAST of your worries lol It really isn't that hard to counter it. Hell I've been grabbed out of it, projectiled out of it, reflectored out of it and all sorts of annoying ****.

but seriously, ANY projectial, a jab, actually any move at all as long as you can see it comming. don't approach with mortar slide, run away with mortar slide.
