It was FAIL we all got beaten by metanights except for chet and Vwins if I'm not mistaken.....and the only thing these metanights did was spam tornados and up B's. oh and some forward B's every 6 or 7 up B's so we wouldn't call it spaming

filau, I honestly think you would've better than most of us in singles as marth.

And I think we need to find a way for our metagame to grow unstale, because as it is currently, pretty much everyone that attends the weeklies is at about the same level (except for chet?) and thus our standards do not get any higher than what we are accustomed to face every wednesday, and I don't think I am alone when stating that this tournament was a big wake up call (at least it was for me). Toronto supposedly holds tourneys weekly. @_@

I'll be putting my Peach to rest for a while.

the thing bout brawl, is once people get to our level, there really isn't that much to do to get better besides maining metaknight or snake. All of us play a lot and we know our chars inside and out, its not like melee, where it had all the at's that could actually step up your game if you used them right.

the best suggestion is to practise our spacing and mind gaming.


with that being said, id like to host a brawl smashfest this week. I wont be making it to the weeklies on wednesday and i need my fix of smashing. Would anyone come out this week sometime or is it too early for smashing since tos5 was only hours ago?

possibly on tuesday/thursday =S ?

it's maybe a bad game, but Cameron is cool and so his tournaments. The competition itself is fun indeed, definitely not a waste of money.

I disagree. To be honest, I knew we were gonna get *****. Just watching MKs in mtl, I could tell that he could be ****. He could be played in a way where he never lags, and that's not what people are doing here. Saying that people know their chars inside out is not true as well, since most people don't even know about their chars in T.O.. How can you assume that we know them enough. In my opinion, Montreal sucks at brawl, let alone 3-4 people. I'm surprised I got this far in the tournament, knowing that toronto plays like, every moment they can. If anything, I don't think we'll be able to catch up before a while. Also, some people have potential but they still have to step it up. Move to T.O., that's what you should do.

EDIT: about the last part: no, work on developping your characters. and learn how to face other characters. what beats what, what are viable strats. You don't go in a battle head on just attacking and trying to space yourself, it's about adapting to each and every situation. stop scrubbing out mtl.

lol, im not moving to t.o lol, but i guess you are right. We dont know our chars inside and out, but we do know them. I guess it is all about countering the other person and adapting. Just wtf counters snake -_-

Wario was clearly my best in teams cause it's easier to not get hit and to find openings but in singles things are really different... sometimes I get tired of dbl jumping around the whole place and I just get ***** and stuff.

And I'm too lazy to keep track of the time so that I use almost maxed out wafts instead of maxed out wafts, my waft usage is really unefficient lol

Actually, ToS 5 burned the fire away because Brawl is a crap game competitively. And also, I will not go Toronto for that so called Bug's tourney because of what I saw with the poor sportsmanship Toronto had.

We all got first seeds so we knew that we'd have to face each other in the second round. We've played each other tons of times and all have our own rivalries. We didn't drive all the way down to beat each other up and then have some people pissed off on the ride home while others were happy as hell.
We have 3 more tournaments in the next 3 weeks for us to compete with each other.

Also saying we "fitted" the brackets is retarted, if you didn't know Percon is one of our most dominant players period so it would have been either him or JL in the finals anyway, which would have changed nothing because Percon would have just owned Vwins in loser's finals anyway.

So once again we didn't "fit" anything, we all dominated our pools. And there was only 2 instances of our 5 losing to anyone else, so if you're trying to say the results would have been any different if we played each other than you're fooling yourselves.

I'm not dumb, i know what i heard. This is a lack of sportsmanship for the game by doing that. It was never about the money, vwins has won so many other tournaments for melee, it was about pride imo. Which it looks like gta guys have nothing of.

Another thing i dont understand is why everyone had access to the computer, shouldnt fogel of not let anyone touch it and just told people there matches for the singles tourney? it was just 16 people, its not like it would of caused a riot if no one was allowed to touch the pc.

Us people from montreal came in a big crowd as well, there were like 15-20 of us(not sure exactly)

Chet had to play vs vwins, and they played out the match, they didnt "strategize" or whateer you like to call it. Chet lost, he went to the losers brackets and he had to play vs Test. They played out the match as well and they didnt complain about having to play each other. test won and chet was out. There was none of that bull**** you advance cuz you are better, there was straight up playing.

Now the gta people didnt do that, and that is the difference in all of this.
