Ok, im not gonna make a big deal of this but can you not read "Basically, there are enough tournaments for us to actually compete with eachother and beat eachother up.. "

Im pretty sure you guys dont have a lot of brawl tournaments since most of you claim you barely play the game and you guys get bored of it. If we had rarely any tournaments to fight eachother we would of just played it out in brackets.. but i guess the bottom line is you guys thought of that as unsportsmanlike and we didnt think of it in any way unsportsmanlike

so you guys have a lot of tournaments to attend to right? are you sure you wont be pulling the same ****?

why even bother going to a tournament if you are just gonna pull that type of **** anyways?

Every tournament around here those 2 usually place top 2, which is why they are undisputedly the top 2 on our PR.
So, logically speaking, no one should play a tournament these guys participate in since they always win, right? I hope you get a good turn up for the next tournament being close minded, egoistical and narcissistic like that, assuming that the results of the tournament was already set in stone....

Idiocy.

I'm sorry? Last time I checked everyone else was giving us poor sportsmanship, and it was undeserved.
Pray tell what you could possibly be referring to.

We all got first seeds so we knew that we'd have to face each other in the second round. We've played each other tons of times and all have our own rivalries. We didn't drive all the way down to beat each other up and then have some people pissed off on the ride home while others were happy as hell.
Congrats, instead of having a few of you guys amongst yourselves angry, you have half of another provinces community leaving angry.

Also saying we "fitted" the brackets is retarted, if you didn't know Percon is one of our most dominant players period so it would have been either him or JL in the finals anyway, which would have changed nothing because Percon would have just owned Vwins in loser's finals anyway.
See your pal's above quote about you guys being sure of the outcome of a tournament like that.

In all fairness, I'm trying to remain neutral about the situation unlike others, but it still rubs me the wrong way. Or maybe its the fact that you guys are giving degenerate arguments rather then accepting the fact that, while its not illegal and banned what you did, it was lacking sportsmanship and tact.

I probably shouldn't get involved in this, but I'm just shocked that GTA got a "bad sportsmanship" rep down there, because that's not what I've seen from them. I mean, I can see this argument easily from both sides though, and can see how Zaf may feel cheated and you should respect that, he is making a legitimate point . But Toronto drove 6 hours to get there, they are friends , they probably feel like they are a team, against everyone else, they saw themselves as a group rather then individuals comming down for the tournement, which is very unlike there habbits here, which is probably because they are more involved and familiar with the tournements here. Zaf seems to be missing this point completly, but GTA should respect why they feel cheated because his point is at least some what legitimate,

now this was just based on what i've read, so it could have been completly different...I'm just trying to bee objective

Listen, obviously you dont get it, or just dont want/care to. So just let it end.
no i do get it, the gta guys are just babys then i guess. I didnt get in the 16 bracket because vwins was in my pool and beat me,i didnt have enough wins after he beat me to get through.

I didnt say to him let me win so i can get through with you, i played out my matches win or lose. I know i will see him again and im not going to hate on him or be "-_-" because i didnt get in the bracket.

but whats done is done, i dont care anymore. its w/e.

who gives a flying **** how long it takes for you to come to the tournament. I drove 2 hours, big ****ing whoop. A lot of montreal guys made it into the brackets as well, and they competed without being a team, because it was a SINGLES tourney.

I dont think mad is quite the proper term. Jaded would be more accurate.

Wow its really sad and pathetic now your so pissed off over this matter Zaf. They won, they were better then the other players, but you still cant accept the fact that they won. Its just really sad how your using all of this fallacy to back up your argument.

oh, i know they are better then us. They won. I'll admit that because it is true. I haven't once said they were **** or used what they did to say that they are suck or we are better. What was done was dumb/stupid and there was no sportsmanship. Thats all i ever said, i backed up what i said.

you guys are better at the game, we have more pride and sportsmanship.

its done, just leave it at that

I'm not saying they SHOULD have done it , i'm just saying I can see where they were comming from, why they would have done it, why they may not see it the way you do. it's not about how far they drove, it's about what they felt towards each other in relation to you guys, they felt as if it was almost them against you , they were trying to maximize there win, not because they cared about the money and not because they're unsportsmanlike, it's because that's how they saw to play it.

Also, this argument seems to be a futile argument, based completly on bias. I mean , I know GTA crew ,I even admit to having a bias towards them, but you need to try to look through that, honestly , they intended no harm obviously.

Pretty sure it has nothing to do whether they won or not, we don't care about that, that's not the point. The point is that nothing is set in stone. You guys thought that it was going to be 100% for certain that JL or Percon would win, that's a load of bull**** right there. You will always find stronger opponents than you! Next thing you'll know someone is gonna crush these people one day. And some of the bracket matches were really close, it could of been one way or another.

Anyways, we are pissed because of those forfeit things that happened, and not willing to fight each other to see who's better. Pretty sure Chet and Testrider are from the same crew, did Test forfeit to Chet? No..

Please tell me since when the word SINGLE has meant more then one? It was a singles tournament that they had done that in, how can you think about everyone else when you have to focus on one person.

I'll close this topic for today because everybody here lacks of sportmanship
the non-montrealers AND the montrealers.

but I'd especially like to feature the great job of minus and kingace, from T.O, for coming in the montreal thread to throw more rocks at montreallers

**

I'll re-open the topic tomorrow when I wake up. If anybody comes here to talk about the last tournament with a non-constructive comment, I'll give infractions.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. That is all. Competition has gone a little bit too far this time guys.

running a tournament is very hard so if you believe in God, then pray alot and sacrifice a goat or sumtin to make your wishes come true

you might also be able to motivate me if you manage to give me 30 virgins, ready to pleasure me wherever I want

Kirt i know i told you i wanted to hold a smashfest this thursday but we then said it would be better for you to hold it. But i also want to play rock band with everyone, so is it alright if i re-host? still want you to come too ( no homo)

There are 3 tvs at my place, and I will see if i can get the 50 inch lcd for rockband. If not kirt can i come get you and your tv? its bigger then my 3. So it will be better for rock band.

From what I've heard, it would be pretty annoying simply travelling to your place.. just making to angrignon for me takes like 45 mins - 1 hour and then whoever comes need to bus as well? Blah...

But it would be a better option maybe.. if you come pick us up at Angrignon perhaps?

I could come to angrignon to pick you all up, but i think i could maybe just bring rock band to kirts place. he said he would have enough room for it.

I only have the drums, 1 guitar and 1 mic. Sorry i dont have another guitar for bass. i never needed another one.

...but i got some downloaded songs, so im cool and that makes up for the lack of a gaytar

EDIT: for the PGL brawl rules, it is exactly how we all play anyways. Im in. I think this is another serious tournament we all need to practice our *** off for guys

Seems like they copy pasted their rules from somewhere, like ToS 5's legal level list:

[...]
Pokemon Stadium - Melee
Rainbow Cruise - Melee
Delfino Plaza
Squeege's Mansion
Norfair
[...]

Lulz.
Wait, the PGL was actually in Ottawa the same weekend as ToS 5... that's some odd coincidence.

But seriously, 40 freaking bucks? Talk about serious money.
I'm thinking of going, if only to get myself properly served.
