Hmm, I saw a video with shiz doing ledge tech -> illusion. Never thought about trying that. Of course it has to be within reach, but ledge techs usually surprise people long enough for something like illusion to get through but not upb.

If there's anything I can do better than the majority of smash players, it's definitely SDI and all those trixies associated with it. It was definitely worth learning in brawl now that it's even more helpful in melee.

the first person i saw do the ledge tech side B was lunin's fox.

i've seen quite a few people die trying it too lol

Shiz is the only one I see consistantly do that in matches, he messes it up like a third of the time but it's by far the best way to take advantage of a ledge tech.

Either that or what m2k does a lot which is ledge tech to air dodge back onto the stage. Little harder to pull off and maybe mire risky depending on who you are but usually really catches people off guard.

I would imagine the ledge tech to airdodge does pay off if you manage to get back on the stage as you still have to figure out how to get back on the stage after you sideB to the ledge.

I would definitely not try doing that airdodge. With the side b you can just leave your directional input the same and start spamming B. For the airdodge you have to switch it to diagonally up and to the side. I've done airdodge straight up -> grab the ledge with floaty characters like marth, but that's about it.
