I wouldn't mind seeing an guide for Falco or Snake, but that's just me. I've seen so much on Oli/ICs lately.

New little trick with ISJR, too bad it's really hard and has no use. But hey it's flashy!
I've actually been using this on BF quite a bit and it's definitely a good bait vs. higher level players because it appears to be very punishable on whiff. The timing for the Up-B is pretty much the same to cancel your Up-B on low platforms (Nair>Up-B was easier for me to learn the timing).

Could you describe how you do it on the platforms? I'm having a hard time imagining it.

SHNair>Up-B>press down when you touch the platform. It's essentially the same as cancelling the Up-B on the top BF platform; the Nair is purely for timing.

Hey guys. I'm wondering if people can give me a good idea of what MK's best tools are for getting back on stage from the ledge? I'm having a little bit of trouble getting onstage. Thanks in advance :)

Against opponents who can't punish me for it, I hang on the ledge and when they decide to attack I drop and SL them.

While that could work. The guys near me will just wait infinitely for me to do something. I already use Nado-ing onstage and drop-jump Airdodge

Yeah also you can drop>glide under the stage but that depends on how fast your opponent's character is.
Or drop>jump>u-air into the ledge if it's like FD or something.

Getting off the ledge back into the stage is really difficult with pretty much every character.

MK's low air speed just makes it unnecessarily hard.

Other than your regular getup options (Ledge Attack has massive range) you have Uairs, Dairs (that you can perform both rising and dropping), many jumps, a glide, glide attack, Tornado, Shuttle Loop and Dimensional Cape for mixups, and you can even airdodge to the ground and buffer shield, roll, or attacks.
The thing is to mix them up as best as you can, getting predictable is something you do not want to do, ever. Being on the ledge is no exception.

So today I was training up. Doing some lv9 mk dittos and I noticed, out of all the matches that I didn't pwn the mk, I would lose the round if the mk got me in a good spot off the stage. I was playing on fd, but when I was brawling I had a hard time recovering on the stage from about anywhere when mk is below me. Any tips on avoiding repeated punishes for trying to get on the ground or options to recover back and get on the same level as ur opp mk?
Say we're in the center of fd. I'm at about 80% and mk does a up special, and I go a pretty good distance up. What do I need to do options wise to get back to ground level so I don't keep getting punished by his air game. Mks down air is the only option I know right now, but the priority of it and the timing is a bit rough. Tornado doesn't seem to be a good option above mk. Don't want to use drill, because the drawback is easily punishable. Maybe neutral air? Not sure

fall down
recover lower(side B or down B to the ledge)
then drop down from the ledge and immediatly jump and fair

OR

while falling back to the stage, move back and fair/airdodge or nado from beside.

OR down B to the stage

I mean you have a ton of options you're MK. What I can say tho is I (and most competitive players) don't suggest practicing on lvl 9's. Play other players if possible offline, and if not play them on wifi

Playing lvl 3 CPU's and looking at what they COULD do is better than training with lvl 9's
Oh and like I told GP a little while ago you can always glide under if it's FD.

you can glide under any stage if there's an under lol

I wouldn't really suggest level 3's either. Typically 7's are good, they play like people. They play like really bad people, but at least you have to predict what they're doing lol. level 9's kinda do the same thing, but have ridiculous reaction time.

Actually, as far as I know, you cannot glide under stages like PS1 because you will hit the wall... But then I saw a vid on youtube about it and how it may potentially be used to stalling.

So just mix up different things for getting off the ledge?

I see, As an ike main. the concept of 'Options' is still foreign to me.

Yeah, you always kinda have to mix up different things or else the opponent will catch you, damage you and throw you off stage every single time. I learned that in a little bit hard way... Even when you are a MK or so.

Sup there fellowbat.

Guys I didn't make much progress with falco mu. I had some stuff that had to be fixed first. I will probably be able to post it this or next week. =)
I'll post the actual word file once I get to my 5th mu. Then I at least made some kind of guide. I hope to get some feedback on that =)

Does it involve flying away to the ledge? That's all I can think of what to do against the dumb bird. But I have lost to every random Falco ever, so what do I know.

Which top Mks have a crap ton of experience fighting Falco?

The thing I do against Falco (well, the two local Falcos, both are pretty good though) is to play reactionary, just poking him with Dair and tilts to see how he reacts, and later on I try to spot their habits and go for punishes, and only punishes.
I don't like going aggro as you can't mess up much, if at all, a single punish of his deal way more damage than MK's.

Juggling Falco means to read his landing options, either an aerial, airdodge or Phantasm, but you can get a lot of reward from that
Also, if he gets offstage his recovery is so linear that it's easy to abuse.

Basically, play it as safe as possible.
