Today I went to reserve a copy of Final Fantasy Dissidia(on the psp), but the people working at Gamestop told me this "The game doesn't come out until next year..."

Now, I thought that there was a communication issue of some sort because everywhere on the internet the sites say that it comes out on next Tuesday on the 25th. I even tried saying it again and what system is was supposed to be on, but the worker pointed me toward the PS3 section >__>

This is my proof the game is SUPPOSED to come out from the 3 sites I've went to:

http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/dssdff/default.aspx

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dissidia_Final_Fantasy

http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dissidia_Final_Fantasy

Now I can accept that it was pushed back but why are so many sites saying otherwise(either the sites need to be updated or someone's got some explainin to do), can someone help me before my head explodes from this?

Wikipedia or any wiki for that matter isn't a source or a proof because anyone can edit it. I can know *solemn face*
I know that as well, but those weren't my only sources of info as I have a few more than the ones listed above.

I could give you more sources if you want me to as these are just some of the sites I've visited in the past :O

Either something is incorrect or people need to fix their websites and fire workers who confuse PSP with PS3(or video game release dates for that matter)

There's your problem. GAMESTOP. If any thing, move around places like best buy or EB games.

If they pointed to the PS3 section chances are that they thought Final Fantasy XIII, which does come out next year.

Why is it that I seem to be the last person on the planet who knows that GameStop OWNS EB Games? They're practically the exact same store with a different title. Even the titles look practically identical.

Also, Best Buy is a good store, but they DON'T specialize in video games and their selection tends to be fairly crappy. GameStop sucks, but it's (unfortunately) the best place to buy games, at least in my area.

Except for maybe Goodwill, since you can find a metric ton of retro games and consoles there if you know where to look.

BUT I will try Best Buy or some other game store for that matter on Saturday, I hope that you two are right...

I'm 99% positive that they thought it was Final Fantasy XIII.
After all, he pointed the PS3 section... *Facepalms*

It's coming out on the 4th of September in the UK, and we never get games before America XD.

It will have just been a mistake by the employee. Try again another time, and someone else should probably get it right for you.

.
I am WELL AWARE Gamestop OWNS EB GAMES. But that doesn't mean that they have the same systems to check their stocks. I tried asking Gamestop and EB to check each others systems. Both said they couldn't due to them being different subsidiaries and being equipped with different systems. Also they get games in jagged schedules despite being owned by the same people. Prototype came on shipping date at this EB games while it came a day later at a Gamestop. The same thing happened when the Conduit came out. The same gamestop got it on the shipping date, while the same EB games had it a day later.

Being owned by the same people doesn't mean they internally the same.

I'm not sure how two stores could check each other's stocks anyways, whether or not they're the same/owned by the same company...

And I've had most EB Games in my area change to GameStops. The store did not change at all, just the name. I can't imagine they're that different if they'd just randomly change...

Two different stores releasing games on two different dates could simply be the stores, too.

Plus, the way you phrased your response, it was "OH GAMESTOP SUCKS, EB GAMES IS SO MUCH BETTER". I've never noticed any difference between them, in all honest, even when they were separately owned.

Not to mention that GameStop would not release a game a YEAR later. It was an employee screw-up.
