That tunnel may just be for extreme detail...or maybe another creature is set to come in from there and attack the stage (of the ones listed, Rhedogian would be most likely).

Pretty slow week overall, 3 out of 5 pictures were basically useless, but goddamn this new assist trophy is the best ever. And this is basically the first appearance of Mother Brain in Super Smash Bros., finally. Now let's wait for Ridley.

How does he not think of us fans? He's making not one but two Smash Bros. games. He's acknowledged that cutting characters can alienate some fans, he's also added characters like Sonic and Mega Man and is trying to make a game that competitive and casual players can enjoy. So seriously, how is he not thinking of the fans.

Seriously? Sakurai loves the Smash fans. Brawl and Smash 4's entire lifespan have been nothing but fan service from the launch of the Dojo all the way to the pics of the day that we're getting now and Sakurai is the sole reason for this.

I guess I just see it differently than you guys, I agree that the Miiverese posting and the Dojo was very fan-catering, but he also seems to not listen to us at all when it comes to regarding request in the game.
That said, smashbros fans do have absolutely ridiculous request (Power Puff Girl guy on Miiverse), so I can see why he would ignore them entirely.

I usually can't get hyped over item/pokeball/AT reveals since the only time I ever see them is in single player, but tonight and Skull Kid's reveals have been really cool to see. Always good to see older characters getting the spotlight.

Sakurai at least takes notice of some of the most heavily demanded characters, as much as I would want to influence his roster. After all, it's his game and his creative direction often proves better in the end.

I think it depends on the context. Sakurai seems to listen if the character follows his rules (originates from a video game, and must have appeared on a nintendo console) as well as if the fanbase is large enough. He even took a poll midway through Brawl's development, Sonic won, and that is why he is playable today. Mega Man was also pretty high on those lists hence why we got him and other fanfavorites such as Wario and DeDeDe were also thrown in at least in part due to demand. Individual Miiverse posts won't get his attention on their own, but thousands of requests that all say the same character at least talks to him I'm sure.

Not entirely sure if the Vorash could be within the Geothermal Power Plant's floor, but I think so.

For example, I certainly wouldn't have daily updates about whats underneath Rosalina's dress.

I'd say, if anything, this would help Ridley. But just barely, and not enough for me to dig into this done-to-Death discussion. :/ I still Believe in my Ridley.

Anywho, Mother Brain can still be a Boss. When she apperas in a Boss Rush Mode/Adventure, she'll just have a body emerge from under her. ^^ I mean, nothing says we can't have Bosses as assists. I have no doubts that the Yellow Devil will act as a Boss, too, IF there's a Boss Rush, OR there are Bosses in the Adventure.

From what I've seen it's about 50/50. On Miiverse you either you think he's plausible or you think he's too big.

Sakurai's not stupid. He's competent enough to tell stupid suggestions from actual decent ones.

Also I hope he doesn't read every comment on Miiverse. That is unhealthy and you'd lose IQ points in a hurry. It's ok to glance over every now and then though

He probably doesn't. Remember, we're talking about a workaholic...I doubt he wastes his time just looking at fan opinions on forums. Besides, he probably has so many e-mails/tweets that he gets enough fan opions without having to look for them.

Even if he's stopped reading Miiverse comments, he seems to see tweets at least (i.e. the Palutena leak trolling).

I also wonder: Hypothetically, if Palutena was only planned to be, say, an assist trophy/Pit's FS until Sakurai saw so many people get excited over the leak…would it be too far-fetched to think that he might decide to make her a playable character late in the development process? Assuming Smash 4 is released in August or later, that seems like plenty of time.

Assume that Sakurai would only read the Japanese version of Miiverse. That is, if he cares enough to go to his translators and pick up some batch of random posts. Moreso, it's important on his support over in Japan. According to observations within the Japanese fanbase, Ridley has a good amount of support, but his Western support is monolithic in comparison. Out of all potential newcomers, Ridley and Little Mac have the loudest volume for the West.
