Not sure, it's vague.

But even then Aura influence being bigger is probably better for the character.
Depends, there could be a case where it goes the other why. Where it's too good for him.
A good example is this recovery, if one doesn't know any better, they could launch themselves off the edge due to not realizing the aura gimmick affects him.

But I like the Luigi Cyclone... There's just a charm to it (plus recovery).
Luigi Cyclone is neat, but I would rather have a move to represent Another game, and the Poltergust is perfect. I mean, it's Luigi's only own franchise. I'm sure there will be a Luigi's Mansion stage, but the Poltergust deserves more!

I have also made a very neat moveset for King Boo, just for fun. But I have no hope of him ever being playable. But oh well~

I'd also say that Green Missile, or Skull Bash, to be replaced with something.

Today's picture being about Lucario is hardly surprising as Sakurai tends to talk about the characters' changes when they're revealed.

I really like the new visual effects Lucario has. And Battlefield looks beautiful as ever.

And with what? Honestly, I think the main reason why they've been kept is because they work. Both as an attack and as a recovery.
Look at FLUDD, did it make Mario unique, Sure. But it did nerf his recovery potential.

Lucario looks like a damn super hero in the pic today haha.

Interesting to see that the aura mechanic is going to affect more than just his strength now. I do have to wonder if Double Team will be at all buffed by it.

Well of course it works, and since it works, I'm sure Sakurai hasn't felt the need to change it. But something new could work just as well, and I Think a move from a existing game would be "better" than a Smash made one. His Side Special could be, what's it called again? Flashing his Flashlight like in Dark Moon, stunning foes. Or something.

Also, Mario/Luigi Cyclone are/were used as recovery? I don't Think I've ever used it like that. XD But well, FLUDD is powered up this time, so I'm sure it will get use. This time.

IMO, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yeah, it's been like this. Have you tried pressing the Special button rapidly during the start-up?

Lucario in Brawl was in this "balanced" state though on the tier list he was on the high end.

But MU wise, he was really fair. If he beat someone, it rarely went higher than +1, if it did, the character more likely had a core problem as is or was just countered by what Lucario does, the latter being less common though.

Still he was fair. I'm kinda surprised by this buffs though it may be just him trying to make his aura more involved in his kit and dynamic to his playstyle. The higher risk of living longer, but if you get it. you will be rewarded.

It depends how it is balanced in the end but still I don't see what Sakurai is doing as being bad as long as the weaknesses of Lucario as still there,

Can't kill without aura
Facing strong KO potential is hard
Recovery does no damage

So, just to explain this as clearly as possible:

When Lucario has damage, EVERYTHING GETS BETTER.

Thank you for your time.
To an extent it makes sense as a mechanic. Look at it like a late game hero in LoL. During their first few levels (low percentage) they kinda suck, but one they rack up levels and gear (damage and aura) they get a bit better. For Lucario it doesnt seem anywhere near as broken as people make it out to be considering that he's also at his most vulnerable at high damage considering that he's also easier to ko (max damage can exceed the benefits of max aura).

TLDR version: It's ok if he gets better if he starts out sucking or sub-par.

I agree on that, but I still would prefer some new moves for those two. ^^

And yes, I have, but I never saw that as a effective recovery, tbh.

Lucario has always been a high risk, high reward character. Still, his max aura seems stronger than before. The question is at how much damage will the Aura hit it. They could just be stretching the limit at which the Aura becomes at his maximum power. How will it really work compared to Brawl, that will likely only be known after the game is released.

Anyway, it's still interesting that ExtremeSpeed now has increased movement range with the Aura. I don't recall this mechanic being in Brawl...

The problem is here is that me might rely on aura too much. And this could mean one of two thing:
1. Lucario gonna be broken.
Or 2. Lucario might never see his full potential in battle if he can't stay too long in battle. Especially if some hard-hitters like Bowser or King DDD come into play.

Though, on the other hand, this may also mean that we might see a return of the Anubis strategy, But even worse.

Both are possible but the first point really depends on how his kit is at lower percents and how high he scales up.

The second is possible though it would be fine if it took skill to keep yourself around, which is imo good for the character.

Anubis is great and why Lucario is better in doubles than singles.

Nice new mechanic, this gives me hopes for a more balanced smash and people playing (competively) with who they like, not who is better.
Loving the visuals btw.

The problem I'm referring to is if Lucario's gonna be the next Meta Knight. Sure, one could say it's a stretch. But looking at how Sakurai making him better even though he already was in Brawl. We can't cross out that possibility.

You know, how come no one's ever made a tier list for doubles? They both revolve around different strategies. It could work.

Hell. No.

We already lost the awesomeness that was the Mario Tornado for the piece of **** move that is F.L.U.D.D.

I'm not going through the same thing again for Luigi. The Cyclone needs to stay.

Besides, it'd be kinda pointless considering we already have Kirby and Dedede.

First, FLUDD is powered up, so it seems much more useful now. And, I never said the Poltergust would work just like Inhale. ^^ I can see it being able to suck in items and shoot them out with it, as well as dragging foes around. I never said I disliked the Cyclone, but I'd much rather have the Poltergust.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing the Poltergust, but I certainly don't feel like we need it. My bigger issue with FLUDD beyond it being garbage is that it just wasn't necessary and it's not even something that Mario does enough to make me feel like it was an important addition. I mean at least Luigi has used the Poltergust twice now, but still, I'm not of the opinion at adds that much to him.

Personally, I'm hoping for either meter usage like SF4's ultra combo with rollover between stocks OR Lucario now has the ability to charge his attacks like Jam's Breath of Asanagi.

Maybe for you, but I know that some are more than happy with just how he is.
Yes, for me, that's why I keep saying that's what I personally would want. But I will stop talking about it then, or it feels like a argument would start, and Arceus knows we have enough of those on the net.

So, yeah, Lucario. I wouldn't mind if his Side Special was changed, either. I'd love to see Metal Craw or Vacuum Wave, or something~

... you're making it sound like I'm not allowed to want Changes. :/

@Luigi1
Don't worry, they are obviously working hard on it this time. I doubt they will all be completely equal, but they will most likely be the closest yet.

Ridley will be the new MetaKnight, of course. >:3

He's saying that will make some srguments, because lot's of people will dislike that. But you can keep opinions.
Still, people are like that...
Well, all Changes nowdays causes arguments, so that's a given. ^^ I just meant the way he said it. But true, there are people like that.

But on topic. Pic of the Day. I love Lucario's flashyness this time. I hope the next trailer will show him off a Little.

Though if anything, you might want to put your ideas in the "Lucario" section of the character discussion.
Trust me, mods aren't a huge fan of off-topic discussions.

Honestly I expect Lucario fully. Maybe not a picture focusing on him specifically, but he'll be in there.

Hopefully he gives us some mechanic thing, seems he's made mention of something like that at least once a week for the last two so hopefully that trend continues.

I actually want to hear more about that "direction" thing he mentioned when he was talking about removing tripping. I don't think it's ever come up again, has it?

Well yeah, that's why I said 'on topic' and started to talk about what's on topic. :p

I expect a pic of Lucario, but I will say there will be a Pokémon stage revealed tomorrow (tomorrow for me). Probably on the 3DS. ^^

Also, Fatmanonice, you mean there MAY be Another character reveal coming? Mewtwo for this week's Direct!
With Tropical Freeze now 6 updates away, it's coming anyways. I doubt another character will be revealed out of the blue like Lucario though so if there is one this week, it'll almost definitely be tied to a Nintendo Direct.

I agree. I bet the next character reveal will be during a Nintendo Direct if they have one every two months. My guess is it will be either Yoshi for the "year of Yoshi" in 2014 (that's a thing they're really doing, right?) OR Diddy Kong in honor of the new DK Tropical Freeze game.

Unless they give him the Hover Nozzle, FLUDD is going to be just as useless as it was in Brawl.
