I honestly don't get it...isn't this new info? I thought it was decent...

Even if the move seems to only be good for item play...so the move itself may suck.

Why does she look so surprised using it?

Also I don't see her wand for this move. But it was there in her reveal trailer. Interesting.

I wonder if this move has any kind of hitboxes; it seems like it will be really match-up limited if not since most characters don't summon items, and catching bombs from Link/Toon Link or grenades from Snake in the vortex would have as much downside as upside.

It was pretty obvious what the move did from the trailer and most people assumed it was her down B. The only new info was the name.

Won't this move be entirely useless if items are turned off...?
Not at all, based on how Mario's fludd reacted to it in her trailer it sends projectiles completely around her. It will be useless against characters like Falcon or Marth, but against projectile based characters it will be a godsend especially if Luma is too far apart to help defend her.

We did see it screw over Mario's Fludd in the trailer and Peach's Veggies are gonna suffer.

Not necessarily. Characters like Peach (turnips), Diddy (bananas) and MegaMan (gears) have items in their special moves.

Plus, this same move alters the gravity of projectiles. So really any character with a projectile gets affected by her, not just the ones with items.

Not if it can also draw in Diddy's bananas, or Peach's turnips, or Link/Tlink's bombs and Mega Man/Villager's stuff.

Edit: Also, why do I keep staying up for...this!?

Saw this coming. At this point, I hope we get more new stuff, or at least stuff from different characters. I still wanna know about Bowser's aerial flip move (not Side-B), from Developer Direct.

I'm calling it. This move is going to ha e some kind of ridiculous exploit that will make her top tier. The whole luma gimmick isn't enough to sway me to think she'll be any good. It looks like Lumas don't have a separate down b command.

This is actually rather similar to a move I had once suggested as a replacement for Mario's Down B. Very interesting.

I am enjoying these detailed updates and hope to see more moveset information in the future.

No but with all the things this game is bound to have, getting rehashed information never sits well. But I don't think this was aimed at us Smashers specifically. The info was for those who aren't invested enough to pay attention to trailer details (casual smashers and newcomers to the franchise).

Can anyone explain this picture of the day to me i have seen with items on but how would this be useful when items are off?
In the Rosalina trailer, it also seems to redirect Mario's FLUDD, so we assume it works on all projectiles.

Items are confirmed to not being able to be turned off

It'll probably be very limited in use in actual matches given how long the move seems to last and that it probably doesn't damage (though there is the Luma which could be used for some protection for it's duration), but looking at the large range in the trailer it'll definitely be a great tool and possible hard counter to Peach/Diddy.

Also would laugh if it turns out that Smash Balls are effected by this move.

Direct yourself to 1:58 please. This pretty much lays out what the move does.

This.

I remember when "crappy pics" were ACTUALLY crappy pics.
But nah, just as before, people got spoiled.
Learning even a little more about a character's moveset = crappy according to them.
Even though we've seen it in the trailer, it's nice to get a solid confirmation on the move.
