Miiverse Daily Pic Thread: 2nd Edition (Updated 9/19)

This pic is quite interesting, as it shows silhouettes of the characters in the background.
I could identify Megaman, Wii Fit Trainer, Zero Suit Samus, Yoshi, Villager, Rosalina, Greninja and Sonic.
Maybe there is someone new on it, for example under the trophy's stand: batlike Wings. Might fit for Charizard, but it's hard to see. Could be Meta Knight. And who is that besides them? I guess it's Kirby.
However, there's a bunch left that were hard for me to identify. Maybe someone can add more contrast to the silhouettes and the background.

I am kind of wondering about the Play Coins. Perhaps one Play Coin is worth 10 Smash Coins; this would mean that 30 Play Coins would equal 300 Smash Coins.

However, chances are, there's a limit to the amount of purchases that you can make with the Play Coins for each day; this is basically similar to with Kirby Triple Deluxe, where there was a limit to how many times you can wager Play Coins for keychains in a single day.

I'm sure there will still be other ways to get the trophies at random, but this shop looks like a nice way to get those last random trophies you're missing. Plus, more trophies than Brawl is impressive.

Really like today's update. The 3DS version alone has more trophies than Brawl? Just imagine how many trophies there will be in the Wii U version!

I always loved the trophy feature in Smash Bros. It's always fun to look at the different trophies in the game of the many characters of Nintendo.

Great update. Its good to know we'll be seeing more trophies. I always liked collecting Brawl trophies.

Im assuming the ones in the shop will be thw random ones, while ones you get for events, prizes, etc. Would not be available.

EDIT: Actually know that think about it, this kinda makes me mad. If the 3DS can handle 544+ trophies, then why can't it have more than two music tracks per stage?

I'm not sure about classic, but Miis have been confirmed to be the multi-man mooks this time.

Well, Miis as multi-man was already shown at E3. But I never heard of that famitsu having classsic mode.

That's Toon Link. The "wing" you see is his cap; you can also see his shield and boot.

I really like the update. Collecting trophies has been my most favorite Smash-activity besides playing matches. Great to also see it on the superior () version.

Only Zelda had the little eyes in the helmet. I'm well aware of that game lol.

Its not a big deal. Just Zelda has the eyes and generic phantoms don't. It even has the same pigment as the Zelda Phantom.

I'm pretty sure I have PTSD from repeatedly blowing my entire stash of coins that took me days of playing to collect on the slot machine in Melee and the coin launcher in Brawl, only to walk away with one or two new trophies when I was close to beating the game 100%. Don't even get me started on the nightmare that was "sticker farming" in Brawl...

I like the incentive for us to get coins now and this is much better than Coin Launcher or the Slot Machine.

More trophies than Brawl? Oh yes I accept this with open arms. This game will be huge in terms of content!

I know how that feels myself. When you're just starting your collection, you're almost guaranteed to get something new. However, when your collection is almost complete, your odds of getting something new become "very" slim.

I'm still missing the Diskun trophy from Melee, and one or two Boss/Challenge trophy in Brawl.

Might just be me, but I actually hope that we don't get too many trophy and that Smash reaches its limit soon.

To be fair, a non-animated polygon model with a few textures really doesn't take up much in terms of space, but a song can take anywhere between 3-6 megs, maybe less for 3DS compression. I'm not sure. Regardless, they can probably fit in 20-40 (maybe more) trophies in the space it would take to have one song for a stage, and if they had an extra song for every stage in the game, that would eat up a ton of space they could be devoting to other aspects.

TL;DR version: yeah, trophies probably cut into the amount of songs available per stage, but I feel like it's a worthwhile trade. Heck, other fighting games usually only have one song per stage. Smash is special.

A friend of mine told me that audio and sounds are elements that consume a lot of space and resources or something like that.

This wouldn't surprise me given this is basically what happened last month. A month past after E3, people were expecting either a character update from Famistu or Coro-Coro and then he made the announcement. On the other hand, a Smash Direct in early September would probably be more appropriate at this point and I wouldn't be surprised if they held off until then either.

We might get a character tomorrow, there's only 5 weeks left until launch.

I think we're pretty close to a newcomer reveal, though. It's likely there's going to be one sometime in August, and one of the remaining veterans might be bundled in with that.

However, there's a Smash Bros. feature in next week's CoroCoro magazine, so one more veteran for that is reasonably likely.

EDIT: In fact, there may even be a newcomer in CoroCoro. Tomorrow might yield another "Hey guys, newcomer incoming" message from Sakurai.
