I will
laugh and laugh and laugh if one of his custom side-specials is throwing Bandana Dees.
The only clones we've seen so far are Toon Link and Luigi. Luigi is already pretty different from Mario, but he still got a new FS, and Toon Link is pretty much unchanged, although he has some unique normal attacks. Link also got some new normal attacks, which gives him a little more differentiation.
So
- That's not much of a pattern.
- Luigi and Toon Link are canonically "clones".
- Luigi is identical to Mario in most of the old games (SMB1&3, SMW), and his moves are the same aside from jumping/traction in plenty of others (SMG, NSMB, SM3DW).
- Toon Link doesn't use any equipment that he can't use in Wind Waker. He has the same name and general appearance (except as a cartoonish child, of course).
So there's
very good reason to expect Ganondorf to be treated differently. If Pit can have 3/4 specials revamped, a new FS, and some new normal attacks too, it's not that crazy to think Ganondorf will get a couple new special moves and some changes to his standard attacks.
