You know Sakurai, I wanted to start off this week with low expectations based on last week but, damnit, you put a chicken in today's update. Do you know how hard it is to be pessimistic when chickens are involved? I swear to god Sakurai, if you actually make the 200th update tomorrow actually worth our time...

I'm guessing it's an item. Like Mr. Saturn, a Bob-omb and Sandbag. Calling forth a Cuccoo only to have is walk around the stage doesn't seem very helpful. I know not all AT's are helpful, but I dunno... just feels like it should be a separate item.

I'm honestly surprised about the reaction most people had from the cucco. I mean, yeah, it's a cool item/assist but you got people going full caps "THIS IS AWESOME" and people saying that they've wanted the cucco since smash 64. So much happiness over a chicken...a very scary chicken.

I had a dream about a Cucco being an item! Sakurai, I hope you're looking at my Crash Bandicoot in Smash dreams xD hahaa.

Seriously though, I'm liking the looks of this item. You'll probably be able to pick it up and throw it to deflect projectiles or hits and then it will unleash its Cucco stormed-rage on the attacker.

Here's my thoughts:
It can not be a taunt or move of Toon Links because it would seriously not make any sense is not in the Toon style.

It isn't an AT because, of all 4 or so announced ATs, the only one that wasn't directly said to be an AT was Starfy, because the post simply said "Yellow Characters." All of the other ones were mentioned by name and were, in their respective posts, confirmed to be ATs.

Smash has a category of items/characters called "Character Items," these consisted of Sandbag, Hotheaf, Bob-omb, Mr. Saturn and Mr. Freezie in Brawl, and sets a precedent for having sentient or semi-sentient items.

Therefore, it can be said beyond a reasonable doubt that Cucco is an item.

Basically there's no reason to think the 200th will have anything special since the 100th didn't, and it's not like we can even pin which 200th Sakurai considers the 200th haha?

Either way, it'll definitely be better than the 100th just by merit of all pics being better than that lately.

Double-Down Sandwich confirmed for new food item.
It doesn't actually heal you, it hurts you. And slows your character down by 25%
But for real the Double-Down is surprisingly good.

EDIT: Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity even has Sanders as a guest character for whatever reason.
