My melee won't work in my wii! It keeps saying the disc can't be read, but I can still watch the opening of melee. It says the disc cannot be read after I press start to skip the opening... but it works in my sister's gamecube! Please help if you know what's wrong !

QnA thread is where it's at.

But yeah, the Wii just stops loading it for some reason. I'm not sure why. Same happened to me. I just use a GC now.

The Wii is one weird piece of technology. Sometimes it can't read my disc either. Just blow into to Wii to get rid of dust and stuff that might have built up.

Check the disc. I bought a used one at Gamestop that did the exact same thing, but a used one from Gamestop ordered online worked fine.

In the case of the broken disc, there was a fat tangential scratch on it. Tends to make the disc lose a few MBs of info >_>

Same thing happened to me in the first few months of having the Wii. I told Nintendo about it, they sent me a box to ship it to them in, and they sent it back quickly all fixed.

OH MY GAWD, SFAT has the same problem with his wii. Its not your disk its your wii. If you're too lazy to fix your wii, then you should take the disk out and put it back in[repeat if necessary] until you get to the next screen.

edit: or you can stick to your sister's gamecube.

An error has occurred. Turn the power OFF and check the NINTENDO GAMECUBE Instruction Booklet for further instructions.

Means it's scratched/damaged I guess. Not working on a Wii is just a matter of the Wii being weird,

I think I may have a reason why it won't work.

Have you ever played Brawl in the same Wii? If so, you Wii now has a deadly virus which causes the console to become full of fail; your melee has no hope.

Sorry son, he's gone now...
