Skull girls is way more easy to assimilate as a "fighting game" for most of the FGC though, we've been through this for too long, people are just starting to take us seriously, don't get me wrong i like SG, it's just that i feel this time we deserve it more than ever
Well, you have to realize that all of the FGC
does not reside on the SRK forums. So saying "most", when about 50%-80% of those posters on there don't even attend a single tournament, would be highly inaccurate. Though maybe that statistic fits more with stream monsters (which should highly be ignored just as well).
Just saying we're a fighting game and just acting naturally towards everyone else who plays the other games, as Skisonic said a few days ago, goes a long way to bridging that gap we never seemed to cross for whatever reason.
And I really feel like a huge boon to us has always been the lack of an actual *news* site so people know the community is still thriving. And we're
now just getting that since AZ bought smashboards back from MLG. That's going to be
huge for us, alone, to get more exposure. Vectorman's combo video got posted on SRK
because Omni had made a newspost about it! That's a step in the direction we need to keep going in.
I know not everybody plays Project M or whatever, but look at what it took to get word out there about it. It went from being largely unknown to the mass audience to becoming something *big* that even someone like
James Chen wants to try out sometime. That's good for Smash,
really, really good. To have such an amazing community driven project. It's just an example I'm making, is all.
This contest or competition or donation drive, whatever you want to call it, can get us a huge level of exposure. Evo is like the icing on the cake. Showing we love the game
this much to donate to a good cause is simply amazing.
