the jump cancel glide toss was in brawl. it worked exactly the same as it does in smash4. many characters even had better jump cancel tosses than glide tosses, especially those whose glide toss effectively didn't go anywhere. and on top of that, as many people have already said, the inputs in the video show that this isn't even a jump cancel item toss, lol.As a game, Smash 4 has introduced a few new advanced techniques. One, called the "Jump Cancel Glide Toss," is a tech that acts similarly to Brawl's glide toss.
It is. Its just that you need the jump mapped to one of the shoulder buttons to do it reliably.the jump cancel glide toss was in brawl. it worked exactly the same as it does in smash4. many characters even had better jump cancel tosses than glide tosses, especially those whose glide toss effectively didn't go anywhere. and on top of that, as many people have already said, the inputs in the video show that this isn't even a jump cancel item toss, lol.
Megaman is moving on upYou people wanted wavedashing....
You got something better.
This helps MM a lot and he's high tier lolThis does not help Megaman that much.
I wish it did, but MM is still just a beautiful mid-tier.
It really does. It allows for tilts and smashes whilst approaching. No need to worry about dash attacks. It is a really strong movement option for anyone who can use it.This helps MM a lot and he's high tier lol
For some characters it doesn't matter if they have a holdable projectile or not. Characters like Ike and Greninja can pull off this tech as well.It really does. Anyone know how Mewtwo has it? He has no holdable projectiles or does his Shadowball count?
It requires the use of items thought, right? Megaman, and Diddy can create items and that's why it's useful. For other characters, they'd need to steal items from the rest of the cast
Too late, Ike and Shulk do it better. =P
Just, situational for them xD
Ike's timing is crazy easy.
this isn't better. it's something that can only be done while holding an item and you can only move forward with it. and from the looks of it, it helps certain characters far more than others. You people wanted wavedashing....
You got something better.
Really? Is it the same input though as this tech requires an item toss input? I mean, the effect might be the same, even if the input isn't. I'm just curious as to how it works. For some characters it doesn't matter if they have a holdable projectile or not. Characters like Ike and Greninja can pull off this tech as well.
Which one has the most range? Can you DACIT in smash 4?No, it's not.
This isn't a "jc glidetoss" (which isnt even a thing since you can't jc a glidetoss). It is a dashing item toss cancelled item toss.
Glidetoss: Cancelling a roll into a standing item toss in any direction
JC item toss: Cancelling your dash/run into a jump, then cancelling the jump with a standing item toss in any direction
DACIT: Cancelling a dash attack into an item toss
DACUS (I cant believe I have to clarify this): Cancelling a dash attack into an USmash
This: cancelling a dashing item toss into a standing item toss upwards
Get it right people.
Oh boy just you wait. Nintendo be rollin' out dem patchesYou people wanted wavedashing....

Good in those MUs tho~It requires the use of items thought, right? Megaman, and Diddy can create items and that's why it's useful. For other characters, they'd need to steal items from the rest of the cast
I assume you're joking, because this is obviously a terrible substitute to wavedash, and had few real applications. After all, it's easy to evade, and cannot be used in a true combo...You people wanted wavedashing....

Care to name some AT that were patched? As Nintendo patches this out because they don't like advanced techniques.
Seriously though, this is pretty huge.
Wasn't there that lag canceling with item throws that Link could benefit from?Care to name some AT that were patched?
We all know this was in Brawl too, right? As a game, Smash 4 has introduced a few new advanced techniques. One, called the "Jump Cancel Glide Toss," is a tech that acts similarly to Brawl's glide toss. Both can make characters slide by inputting an action while throwing an item, but as opposed to Brawl where a roll was canceled into an item throw, it's instead canceled from a jump.
Uhhh... You have to have a throwable item and can only go in one direction, plus it's not even incremental, and it's utility varies depending on character. You people wanted wavedashing....

Read the whole gosh darn thread please.I said I was joking earlier...
You're not wrong there, boosting with his absurd bomb that never seems to actually go off, but imo this is probably gonna help link the most since he could just set up stage control with bombs that bounce off the shield so it becomes either an approach option of a defense option, which through conditioning with projectiles would not be surprising. If only it was easier to pull off. MM definitely benefits the most, but I severally doubt this will be a game changer towards his viability.
Mega Man gets the best names on everything. I love not having to use the terms N/B/S/D/U Smash/Air/Tilt/Grab all the time.
Also Boost Bomb. lol
They've removed the DACUS and Link's Jab Cancel in various patches, so many of us feel the DACIT or JCT will get patched out if Sakurai gets wind of it. Which might be likely now that every Mega Man under the sun is going to to attempt it.Care to name some AT that were patched?
Perhaps, but you can turn around and carry on the glide in one direction whilst facing the other. So it does have some defensive properties as well. Not that that makes it anything like wavedashing, but at least you can defend or attack with it.Uhhh...
