This doesn't really deconfirm it. These are just the standard controls. And plus, when you get a CPP and you can customize controls, I'm 100% sure you can set the CPP or quick smashes.

It would be nice if you could use the 3D slider for quick smashes. lol
Yeah, we are all sure it will be back on the Wii U version, 3ds I don't know.

Use 3D slider for quick smash......uh....no.

I never used C-stick, so I really don't care. I don't know why people make such a big fuss about it.

I don't know. It got me into a really bad habit of literally only using forward smashes last year because I always had my thumb on the stick. I'll be kind of happy if we don't have the c stick so I'm not tempted to do that again.

I never even knew the c-stick could be used for smashes until I started visiting these forums. I only played with my friends in the neighborhood and none of us figured it out.

I knew it could be used for smashes, I just didn't see the point in using it. It seems so counter-intuitive.

What Nintendo should do is make a controller grip that has a GC controller like shape, slap on a circle pad on it, and watch the money roll in. :p
I just go full rage mode when I see people complaining about the lack of a C-Stick for the 3DS, or a C-Stick substitute, it obviously shows you don't give a **** about the Gamecube controller and just want a bloody C-Stick.

M-Muh competitive aerials tho m-mu-mu-mu!
Deal with it like you had to with N64 Smash
Do you actually know any competitive players that still play smash 64?

Well, yeah, people who use the C-Stick are hooked on it. It's like they're elitists.

Like it was said earlier in this topic, people don't use it for its smash attacks, we use it to preform aerial attacks. It makes fast falling and doing anything that isn't a down air easier, AKA we use it to SHFFL in Melee. And it also allows us to do back airs while moving forward and vice versa.

I dunno about an exclusive one, especially since it's not in the PAL bundle, but watch it work with the 3DS and 3DS XL Circle Pad Pros.

Wiimote+Nunchuk combo is the best.
Well to each their own. I know I prefer the Gamepad and Wii U Pro over the GC controller myself.

I love the placement of both thumbsticks near the top of the controllers

My hands hurt just looking at that.

Also the right pad has to be a stick, cuz you flick it, you don't actually use it, otherwise you'll get THEM complaining

I don't think I feel comfortable with rumble on my 3ds. This is an expensive game system not built for rumble, unlike a controller with rumble built in

Yeah, the rumble thing I'm not a big fan of...

You know, who made this anyway?
Obviously not Nintendo or another game company because if so it'd be all a buzz.
Guess just some random modder or something.
Im pretty sure its fake/concept art. I couldn't find anything close to this on google aside from that image

I don't know how to feel about this.

I'm more casual, so I'm not using c-stick for aerial as often as I should, I can still be good without as well, but having the option to use back airs while moving backward would've been nice.

Oh well, it's not needed for me as I've went a long time without using it. So it won't be too hard to adjust.

People make a "big fuss" about the c stick because it's a faster way to do smash attacks and it helps spacing in the air. Anybody who doesn't use the c stick is in a disadvantage against a c stick user.

I wouldn't be surprised if Smash 3DS doesn't support the cpp, considering Sakurai's awful implementation of it in Kid Icarus Uprising.

Why, because of the rumble thing?
Not so much the rumble as pure Melee fanservice that's unnecessary on a freaking handheld.

That and rumble on a console with a small screen screams uncomfortable to use for a game like Smash.

Yeah, honesty I wonder why people are so obsessed with the GC controller.

That Basic Controls article on the official site was talking about how to play the game, not about controllers in general. Nothing was said about the Smash Stick for the Wii U version either (which has been confirmed to have Smash Stick controls). So nothing was deconfirmed.

But my opinion if it ends up we don't get Smash Stick controls for the 3DS version, no loss for me. I barely used it on Melee, Brawl, Flash 2, or Crusade. Plus I'm so use to the controls from the 3DS Smash plagiarizer Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion, I'm fine with no Smash Stick.

Plus if there is no Circle Pad Pro support (I hope there is as mine's collecting dust), I can always use this:

I think they were talking about the 3ds only not wii u so I don't think you can make that argument

Also, like someone said it says BASIC controls.
Also, they didn't even mention how to throw, so with that logic you can't throw in smash.

Also, like someone said it Sausalito I don't think you point about basic controls stands up they just seem like regular controls I'd on think they would talk BASIC controls.

I hope you can adjust the controls and add a C-stick function to the control pad.
I've always been a fan of using the C-stick for Smashes and aerial attacks....

As I......... until the Wiimote+Nunchuck combo existed. No going back. Easily access every button with very little effort, while having the fluidity of not keeping both of your hands in the same locked position. Priceless!!

As I have been playing without a c stick, I actually find it difficult to fast fall, and can easily down air and spike opponents. I don't know if fast fall requires double down, but I don't seem to ever fast fall.

I played Brawl for 6 years that way so I can't really disagree with you!
