May for Brawl

Ash is an anime character. Anime characters are not allowed in Brawl.

If you are talking about Red, the first trainer you play as, you should say his name correctly.

Using pokemon seems like the only reasonable way for any trainer like May to be a character for Brawl. Otherwise, the only thing they could do would be to punch, kick, and maybe throw empty poke balls like was just suggested. That would make for a pretty boring character, so I say that pokemon would have to be used at least for the B atttacks.

On that note, maybe they could change it bit so that it is different then the pokeball items. Insted of having a pokeball be tossed and a pokemon come out and attack, maybe the pokemon could appear next to May and use it skills to help. There could be a different pokemon for each of the major B attacks.

Example: B + up attack, Beautifly. Beautifly appears above May and grabs on to her floating her upwards a bit to reach ledges and hit anybody in the way.

Just a random thought. My apolgies if it has already been suggested before.

I did include some Pokemon in May's moveset, but I didn't want to go overboard and include too many. But I could replace some of the moves in her moveset and include some more Pokemon, so long as they don't entirely dominate the moveset.

And the Pokemon do appear next to May- I can do without having to throw Pokeballs to summon the Pokemon in her moveset.

i know WHY u want her in brawl. and i know WHY any1 else would want her in brawl. she's such a bad character to choose for brawl considering she DOESNT physically fight.

She was in there to replace Misty (who's popularity was declining) not because she was popular in the games.

I'm posting in here to avoid being accused of making a duplicate, because I honestly don't care which trainer gets in. I wouldn't be all that disappointed if no Trainers got in, but I just thought of some half decent moves.

I figure whichever trainer it is should use starter pokemon for their up, down and smash b moves, and capture opponents in pokeballs for a neutral b.

The Trainer's p B would use a water pokemon using waterfall. A waterfall will be created. The Pokemon itself will then become a plat form that May can ride upwards. I have a soft spot for the originals, so I'ma say this pokemon will be squirtle.

The Down B would be a grass pokemon using vine whip in either direction. My pick would be Bulbasaur.

The Smash B could be the Fire starter (charmander) using flamethrower. Keep in mind that all of these are unique because they'll remain stationary while the Trainer could move around and use A attacks (kicks and punches, although that bike idea could work for a D smash) .

Here's where I think it's clever, though. Every So many times you use a B move, the pokemon will evolve. The attack will then do more Damage, have more range, be faster, etc. This will make the Trainer a character that one needs to use carefully and precisely.

I also have some thoughts on using a pokeball as an attack. I think it should only work when an enemy as a certain amount of damage. Maybe even Seventy five percent. Once the enemy is trapped, the pokeball would become an item with a short lifespan. Any character can pick it up and throw it. The trapped character would run forward and use their dash A (there will probably be some character specific exceptions) If no one uses it, the character will just pop out and nothing too special would happen.

Oh, and I don't think anyone should be included because of their popularity in the show. As far as I'm concerned, the show should be treated like it doesn't exist. Nearly everyone I know is sick to death of the franchise. The games are a separate entity that has value.

I just saw the title to this and thought that I should inform you that May has no chance whatsoever. Sakurai clearly stated that no charter from any anime, whether it is based on a video game or not, will not be included in Brawl. HOWEVER there would be a possibility of having a female trainer from the games in Brawl, but wait, they already have a male Pokemon Trainer, so having a female would be redundant, so your best chance would be an alternate costume.

Well actually, said extra trainer could have diffrent Pokemon, thus making them different. But, a generic female trainer is not likely, otherwise they would have specified this one as a male. Possibly there is a female alt form, but that's about it. >_>

(But I'm kinda hopeing against hope that Cynthia will be another trainer with the same deal as this new guy, only with Jigglypuff, Lucario, and Garchomp)

Her name is only Sapphire in the Mango, in the games she is May and the male trainer is Brendan... But anyway I think that Brendan should be the alt costume Leaf and Kris will be good enough for female trainer alts.
