A while ago a couple of Olis got together and discussed the Marth matchup over AIM. The meeting ended up being a great success with a lot of useful advice and tactics spread around.

We haven't done one since, and I think it's important that we do. One of the easiest ways to push a character's metagame further is to improve on our matchups. That'll happen faster if we collaborate and exchange information to stay ahead of the game. Matchup threads are nice, but some people benefit more from a live experience, and threads go up slowly too.

We really need to organize and get this together. For starters we should provide our AIM handles and when we're available.

I'm free after 3pm on weekdays, saturdays are busy for me, and Sunday can be free at times. My handle is dracoabunoa@hotmail.com

Chats don't get saved automatically, but we could probably do it manually.

We'll see what others say, though I'm fine with IRC.

If the chat logs were never posted for me to see (since I couldn't make the discussion) on the forums, and no one has been able to help me get them... why do we need the chat logs saved?
What about skype, live chat is the best ;o

So because Dan can't get on aim and you don't need a login for IRC, we should do in on IRC. There's no point in doing it on skype if we aren't going to use live chat, and I don't think enough people have a webcam anyways. Not sure though.

We should set up a date though. :o

we might as well start hanging out in an irc chat in general haha. I'll try to get one up soon, at church atm.

while we're sort of on the topic, I'm thinking of scrapping the social thread and starting over. it'll make it easier since I won't have to ask vivi to edit things and we can keep more info in the op, like chat info in it and such. plus we could like.. have stuff about the oli mains and whatever in it! it'd be like the central thread of the board :x

I guess I'm just tired of answering to vivi when I want to change the social :/ plus it's about time we started picking things up in here anyways. if anyone has thread ideas let's hear'em! ways to change threads around would be great too. time we fixed up the oli boards

and draco.. you don't need a camera for live chat. just a mic
live chat is so much better and more organized, there's no chat logs... but things don't get lost, everyone gets heard, and talking to people is more fun in general.
I definitely love the idea of a skype chat, and would participate in it, even if I quit the game... buuuuuuuttttt.....

I also don't have a mike or webcam. Unless you can do chatting and mic as the same convo, it might seem to exclusive.

Someone contact Rich, Logic, and Dabuz about this. They're really important Olis that the discussion needs.

I want to try out the skype voice chat. For those who don't have mics, you can still hear everyone if you have speakers, and I will have a chat window for everyone to be able to use (people who don't have mics can talk here, and we can log important info on it to be saved).

Naw, they're just hating on you. My parents are very flexible with smash, even going out to drive in 2 am to pick me up at god knows where.
