Directions from Red Line: Get off at Kendall/MIT. Walk west on Main St and turn left onto Ames St. Walk about the same distance you just walked; the venue is on the right, and is on the first floor of the farther of the two parallel dorm buildings.

SCHEDULE
11:30am - Venue opens
11:30am - Signups begin
1pm - Melee Doubles starts
3pm- Melee Singles starts
7pm- Draft crews

ENTRY FEE AND PRIZES:
(All prizes will be paid in cash.)
Venue - FREE
Singles - $10 per entrant (50% discount for bringing TV and cube, 50% discount for new players that are MIT students)
Doubles - $10 per team / $5 per person
Payouts for each event- 1st/2nd/3rd - 60/30/10

Rules
(an experimental variant on Mass Madness 3A rules)
4 stock
6 minutes
Pause off
Wobbling is legal
Freeze glitch is legal
Wallbombing, Upward Pound stalling, Wobbling past 300%, etc. are still banned
Double blind, stage striking from neutrals, counterpicks, modified DSR
You know the rest. Depending on turnout, we may do round robin, pools into bracket, or just a double elim bracket.

Stage Selection:

Singles Neutral List: Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Story, Dreamland 64, Fountain of Dreams
Counterpick Stages: Brinstar, Kongo Jungle 64, Pokemon Stadium, Rainbow Cruise.

Teams Neutral List: Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Story, Dreamland 64, Pokemon Stadium.
Counterpick Stages: Rainbow Cruise, Brinstar, Kongo Jungle 64

MM4a has it's work cut out for it.



I think 6 minutes is okay though.

To clarify, more conventional stalling tactics (wallbomb, upward pound) are still banned, primarily because they are like 60x easier than the Freeze Glitch.

Edit: Actually, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Convincing arguments for or against banning various stalling tactics will probably not be considered, but they might be.

The problem with your idea Matt was that 3 stock matches was an april fools joke where as your going with this ;)

The recording for the last one ended up lagging and audio desynced so hopefully this one will record better.

Hey Shanus, thanks for all the work you and your team have put in.

Smash in the Box and Mass Madness both also plan to have P:M events.

I just wanted to elaborate that a P:M event is more of a possibility at Mass Madness, since by my count it is currently just behind Draft Crews, and Random Crew Bracket for the optional event. It's completely done by community vote so if you want P:M go vote in the Mass Madness thread!

I just don't want anyone to show up at any of these events with the wrong impression and be disappointed!

Not that this will actually happen, but can freeze glitch be used for stalling? I figure you have to damage them, unfreeze and kill them to avoid it being considered match stalling, but I'm not sure if that was the intention here. I definitely think this should be clarified JUST IN CASE!

That's generally the only reason I feel it should be banned, since it's hard to argue the setup isn't hard enough to get to at least deserve a stock.
