Poor Loz18 got sent into hiding, likely because of all the people pestering him with questions he didn't have the answer to. They all may have caught the attention of one of the higher-ups.

Now, the creator of that thread is going around claiming that the Skull Kid leak was a false lead baited out by higher-ups to weed out the source of all the Loz leaks.

Obviously right now, it's just unsolicited Gamefaqs rumors from one person, but it's something to keep an eye on in case it develops. Loz had to have left for a reason, so if any of you have Gamefaqs accounts, you might want to consider chiming in today in case there's silence.

I don't like to use leaks as evidence for a character.

Actually, most new characters have had something to somewhat hint at them

Inkling, Daisy and Ridley are obvious exceptions

Simon, the one-two punch of Snake returning and Bomberman being an assist.

Chrom, No Robin final smash and Ike losing his colours (admittedly I thought this didn't really mean anything)

Dark Samus, no assist, no colour, new villainous Metroid theme (If it was meant for just Ridley, they would have used his own theme)

K Rool had very little but earlier in the direct, the Klap Trap assist was shown. Many took this as something.



Now Moon with no Skull Kid, that's all the hope I need right now

The furniture is indeed interesting, but aren't most people interpreting the chairs as a callback to Waluigi + Wario? In fact, it has a lot of Waluigi fans who are currently grasping for life hopeful he'll be incorporated into the game as playable somehow still, lol. The pillows are a neat find, but they could mean a lot of things, or nothing whatsoever.

It's hard when we have so little to go off of. All we can do is wait and watch the daily updates and hope that the crushing AT doesn't just get casually thrown in like it was for Smash 4, and if he makes it unscathed until the next Direct, hope for the best.

Honestly, I always thought a new Zelda rep would be super unlikely, aside from perhaps Impa as a clone — or an echo, as well call them now. There are plenty of interesting options. The Skull Kid, of course as well as Ghirahim or Midna. The main Zelda trio just seem like a perfect representation.

That being said, I am not against the Skull Kid joining for a couple of reasons. First being that Majora's Mask has been my absolute favorite game since 2000. There is nothing I don't love about it, and the 3D remake only made me love it even more. It is the one game I am never uninstalling from my 3DSes, and the reason I am always going to have a 3DS until 3DSes don't exist anymore.

Second, he looks very unique, looking almost like a marionette of sorts. With the Majora's Mask, he looks even better. Third, more villain representation is welcomed. We got Ridley, Dark Samus and K. Rool, but there is room for more. I would personally like Porky/Master Porky, too, but I know it is unlikely.

Last but not least, imagine Smash getting a rep from the dreaded Majora's Mask? Anyone who used internet in the early 00s know how much people hated this game back then. Of course, everyone loves it now, but man... Being a Majora's Mask fan back in the day was such a pain.

That potential leak filled with me joy. I could see Skull Kid being revealed at the end of the October Nintendo Direct, following the (forgive me for using the word) "trend" of ending directs with villain reveals. The fact the Smash Ultimate roster was decided in 2015 (from what I read) supports the possibility of Skull Kid being playable, since you know, Majora's Mask 3D was released that year.

My two cents on the furniture thing: It don't think it means anything and if it does (it is possible), it is not related to Waluigi who was confirmed as an assist trophy for Smash Ultimate two months ago. Some people are thinking because Dark Samus went from an AT to a playable fighter, Waluigi will too, but Dark Samus was an AT in Smash 4, not Ultimate. Maybe the chairs are hints to something else. Or maybe Sakurai is just making fun of Waluigi fans for the 1000th time.

I STRONGLY think Skull Kid is going to be the Assist Trophy that’s gonna become unique, literally everything is pointing towards it, and I suspect it may be the reason Ashley and Takamaru would have been dropped due to the smaller roster numbers.

The Moon is an Assist, Young Link is in Smash, and there’s a heavy focus on the Ballot as well, and Skull Kid happens to be one of the most popular requests for a Zelda character.

I really think he’ll be included in the game, it makes too much sense at this point.

I do totally agree with you, still, A yellow and purple chair is really ****ing odd. Who in their right mind finds that attractive, and why in the video? (Not trying to give the supposed hints any life), and that's a ugly pillow. Does Japan, or Sakurai have this weird taste?

Also ... One thing there is to mention, remember how Sakurai mention, red-stained eye? Some said it might hint to King K. Rool, but people quickly brushed it off, and look who came. Was this a hint done intentionally? Was the music track leaked on the official page done intentionally? One could ask themselves ... Still, I agree they are just furnitures, but "If" they were to be revealed, those furnitures is something we will never hear people shut up about, which I find hilarious.

I think this is something we're all kind of hoping for. Both because we sadly don't have a whole lot to go off of right now and because there'd be no better way to show off one of Nintendo's most creepy/disturbing villain concepts during an autumn, nigh Halloween Direct. There is also the idea that Sakurai voiced that he plans to showcase all fighters before the game releases to some extent, and given the time frame from now to Smash's release, a mid-October/early-November Direct looks quite plausible.

A Direct that showed off both Dixie and Skull Kid would be a dream I might not be able to handle in one sitting... Especially after just getting K. Rool who I've been waiting a decade for, lol.

Oh, that would be so cool. The end of the K. Rool trailer is a perfect set up for Dixie's trailer, which would take place at the beginning of the Direct, with Skull Kid's trailer being the finishing touch.

Oh boy, I am setting myself up for BIG disappointments. But it is only fun that way.

I can't imagine what he would take from Gyorg and Twinmold. He could summon mosquitoes (moths, I know) like Odolwa and kick rocks like Goht but that sounds kind of lame. To be fair, it is hard for me to picture Skull Kid's moveset.

Ok, so this is interesting. Majora's Mask is my favorite Zelda game, but I've never really supported Skull Kid due to him being super unlikely. I guess he's not out of the realm of possibility now though. If I had to guess, he probably did really well in the ballot. While the moon assist might just be there to add representation from Young Link's games, this is getting me really excited! I'd like to be added to the supporters list

Well, it is not that he doesn't have potential, it is more that what they could do with him is a bit vague, so it is hard to speculate. They could do lots of things.

The fairies being apart of Skull Kid's move set is already a thing in Hyrule Warriors. I really don't need to see it again. I rather see Sakurai's own potential with Skull Kid, something totally different while staying true to the character and brilliant.

Using a smaller moon as a meteor for his Down Smash, rapidly using his flute as his Natural B, jump flip off his foes while pummeling them into the ground with his feet, etc

Guys.... I was only half joking with the sofa behind Sakurai in the Direct. Anyways, the green cushion and red pillows could just as well have been referencing K. Rool, with his olive skin and red cape.

As for Skull Kid's moveset, I think there's a bunch of potential. When you take all three of his appearances together, there's a surprising amount of stuff you can base his moveset off of, unlike say, Captain Falcon. I think he should have at least one move involving each of these things:

• Fire beam laser from the Majora's Mask boss battle.
• Tentacle whip (maybe it comes out of his sleeve, or from one of the spikes directly on the mask)
• His flute or trumpet (maybe it could shoot seeds or have an AOE effect like Jigglypuff's sing, but bigger)
• Tatl and Tael (whether they do something minor like help pummel during his grab or major and act as tiny separate hitboxes after every attack like Luma, they'd be cool!)
• Dark magic, obviously.
• Levitation.
• The puppets from Twilight Princess

Omg I would imagine this would play in his trailer, it would give me chills. This is on a semi related note, but in YLinks trailer on the site there is a remixed version of Termina field, not sure if this is solid evidence for Skull Kids inclusion, but they're giving more attention twords Majoras mask this time around with the moon assist, Termina field, and great bay .

Majora's Mask was great, and that new Moon assist is one of the best ones I've seen. The more people talk about Skull Kid, the cooler it sounds!

Hopefully we can get a new unique Zelda character finally!

I would like his trailer to start with Saria's Song (the first time he ever appears, this song is playing, not to mention you have to play it for him... and then he dances, so cute; not to mention² he knew Saria, who taught him the song) and then change to Majora's theme (either the regular theme, or the boss version). Granted, that only makes sense if he is wearing the Majora's Mask (because... the theme is Majora's, not his), which he will since that is his iconic look.

That's what really makes me not believe it either. It is very safe to say the Skull Kid is "likely" at the moment simply because he hasn't been seen as of yet and there have been a few MM references. Unfortunately, it doesn't take a leaker to determine that, since these things have been on all of our minds since the Direct.

The other thing about it that we don't know that bothers me is we have to wonder what logic this "friend of his" is using to determine that the Skull Kid is "very likely". Is it the same logic we're using? If so, that's not exactly sound logic right now, lol. It is cogency at best, based off of Direct trends where we are simply "supposing" something is the case based on the Skull Kid's absence.

Additionally, loz18 is supposedly gone into hiding now. Speculation is of course flaring over why, ranging from "the ninjas are after him", to "the ninjas baited Skull Kid somewhere higher up to root out Simon's leaker". It'll be interesting to see if anything develops from that.

On the subject, I always had this little theory (which is not really mine, I am sure others have thought of it), that Majora is the Demise of Termina; So, basically the origin of all evil in that dimension, like Demise in Hyrule.
