Strange that K. Rool makes his first official appearance in a Mario game, and yet he can't be team captain.

As long as Bowser Jr. and King Boo is in this game, then I give it a 10/10 in my eyes. The controls in this game looks much easier than the first Mario Baseball.

Thanks, but no thanks.
I've heard about this, and it looks interesting.
I never played the first one, so I'll probably be renting this before I go and actually buy it.
But from what I've heard in the past, the first one sucked.

The first one was good. By far one of the best mario sports games. If you get into it like my family did, it is rather deep with the team options, rather gameplay modes, and it takes a long time to master. I just hope Wifi is enabled (probably not) and they keep the deep amount of options of the first.

I hope this has wi-fi too.
So far Mario Kart Wii and Mario Strikers Charged have wi-fi, so I think there's a chance this will too. I think all the Mario-Sport titles will have wi-fi.

Now all we need is Mario Golf, Mario Basketball, and Mario Football for the wii and the dynasty of sports games will be complete.

If they do make a Mario Golf they should really improve it, because I have it for the Gamecube, and I just could never really get into it. It wasn't as fun as I thought it would be, and after I got my data corrupted I never tried to get anything back.

I really regret for not trying out the first Mario baseball game. All of you are saying it was fun, but I should've tried it out myself other than basing it off of my friends thoughts. We really don't have similar taste in games.

Golf was fun, but it got really old. More characters, a little bit more custimization options, and more single play/ multiplay options.

There's two things that I hope this game will improve on.

1. I could never hit a home run with any class type beside the power guys. I want to have it at least possible than just hitting it always far in the outfield.

2. the Rubberband AI: I hated it when I would literally blow the Computer 6-0 then all of a sudden the computer would score 6 straight home runs and hit the ball directly in the way of a trap. that anny the crap outta me.

I kinda want wi-fi, but it's not really needed. As long as those two things are fixed. I'm good.

I know this is kind of old, but if anyone didn't see the Japanese Commercial then here it is.

I hope that the U.S. make a good commercial out of this game, though the second commercial made it look like it's Wifi to me. O_o

I'm glad it's 4player Baseball than 2player like the first Mario Baseball were only the minigames were 4player.

No post when the game is already out, unacceptable!!! <:(

This game is awesome when I played it with my friend who got it imported. It's funner than Mario Tennis to me.

At around 8:20, he hits a home-run with Goomba. I'm pretty sure he's not a power type.

I only played Mario Superstar Baseball once. It didn't keep me interested. Hopefully this one can keep me hooked. I only played the Gamecube version of Strikers once, but I'm hooked on the Wii version. Maybe history can repeat itself here for me.

I agree that it was too hard to homer in the original Mario Baseball. Ironically, the only character I've ever hit a Grand Slam with is Noki. (Not even kidding)

I'm not sure if I want to get this. My cousin will probably get it so I'll try it at his house.

I'm strangely interested in this. Last time I "really" played a Mario Sports game was Tennis 64, and that was amazingness. We have Strikers for the Wii - but I'm not touching it. Though I honestly have no idea how you play as an outfielder.

Mario Tennis - N64 and Gameboy Color.

There have not been any other good Mario Sports games besides these two(they are two different games with the same name). Hopefully this one won't become as over-hyped as the Strikers games.

Let's just hope tripping is added.

It seems like a good idea. I played Superstarat my friend's house and it was pretty fun. I'm kind of balancing on wether or not to buy it though...

Er....................................................................................................................................................

K. Rool is, I can assure you, at least close to as well known as Ganondorf. I suppose you don't actually know the true size of the DK fanbase, nor how much hype and credit the original DKC got, let alone it's successor(s).

K. Rool is also, a MUCH more well-known, iconic villain than Wolf, yet Sakurai saw fit to put Wolf in the game.

I'm just gonna let you know you might have chosen a bad phrase to use there.... "Because he isn't famous"

To keep it short, he's been in more DKC -> games than even DK himself. His alter-egos have earned him an even larger fanbase (people dig Kaptain K. Rool) and for some reason, his fanbase is even more massive in Japan.

I chalk K. Rool not being in the game to Sakurai's lapses in judgement with Brawl, among other things (Lolz guys, lets put in some moar semi-clones, but not characters who could have a very unique and different moveset, lulz)

More on Topic, I was very glad to see that K. Rool was in MSS, and.... I posted a thread in the Light House I dont know if any of you read it, detailing the history of DK characters making cameos in Mario games.

Let me just find that...

Here : http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=178711&highlight=DK

Hopefully that will answer some questions about K. Rool and others for those of you still in the dark.

Anyway, I'm glad K. Rool is here, maybe this will help his chances in the next Smash game, and if it doesn't, oh well, he's here, and I can play as him, so woohoo.

Rest assured though, the moment Smash 4 is announced....

Umm.... this may be late but does anybody know how to get Bowser's team on challage mode?

But other than that, this game is pretty enjoyable. It reminds me of Wii Sport's Baseball but 10000 times more better. X)

You beat Bowser's team twice to get everybody that is on his team. And as soon as you get his team, they will be already star ranked.

I'm guessing everyone knows how to get star rank right?

Wow, that was actually a FUN story mode! Controlling the characters was a bit of a pain, and having to switch characters was even more pain-staking. But the challenges were short and sweet and each character seemed personal instead of just color swaps. Yoshi Color Swaps FTW, though.

The hardest Challenge Mode was the Pirhana Panic Mini-game, though. My pitches did NOT curve, I was rotating my wrist and EVERYTHING. Ugh,. took me like....7 tries to beat it!
