Retro Battle: Honey Bee Hive

New Battle:
Console themed courses were at one point a Mario Kart staple, but the Switch is just a flat screen, so we'll have to get creative...

Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
The handles are a downwards slope, the D-pad seems like a wall but you can jump on it with the drift button, the YXBA buttons are basically just bumps in the road, the shoulder buttons are pressed down and therefore not driveable terrain, and finally the joysticks will be rotated in different directions, meaning you can drive atop them when they're facing you, but once you get on you may be pushed off. The +, -, Home, and Camera buttons don't effect gameplay.
I was going to say it'd be cool if it was like a zero gravity course and you could also drive under the controller... but then that'd probably make it unnecessarily big so never mind. Was a neat thought, though.

There's probably not much you could do beneath the controller - though if this was a regular Switch having the kick stand as a slope would be pretty cool.

Are the Standard Tires and Super Glider included by default?

New Mode
Chomp Spree

This mode focuses on a free for all, basically the 4-8 players of the mode have to hunt for Chomp Coins, they are silver colored with the chain chomp emblem, periodically a pillar of silver light will shine with a number on it, enter the pillar with the number of chomp coins listed and you transform into a silver chomp

As a silver chomp you have the limited ability to knock out and hunt karts which explode when they get hit by the chomp, for every kart that explodes the chomp player gains a point, then with the most points wins

Their are safe areas where the chomp is too big to enter such as tunnels, the chomp past for roughly 15 seconds before disintegrating back into the player, the chomp can also gain a small speed boost by smashing item boxes

Overall a chaotic and unpredictable mode like the best battle mode

Job 24: Bob-omb Blast (the good one)

Bob-omb Blast in the format of Mario Kart Double Dash.
Only Bob-ombs are available from Item boxes, and you can hold up to 10 of them. If a player hits someone else with a Bob-omb, they earn a point, but if a player is hit by a Bob-omb, they lose a point. If they earn the necessary amount of points first, they win.

Job 24:
Hide'n'Seek

No, this isn't Renegade Roundup, it's actual hide and seek. For a visual explanation of how this works, I'd recommend watching some videos from NuoKart/Mayro on the new hide and seek mode in Mario Kart Wii.

There's two variations to this mode: Elimination and Infection. Both are pretty straightforward; Elimination is where when a hider is found, they are eliminated. After a certain amount of time has passed, one eliminated hider will return to the game as a seeker. Infection is where hiders who are caught turn into seekers. When playing online, it will either show as Hide'n'Seek (Elimination) or Hide'n'Seek (Infection).

Instead of using the traditional battle courses, it will have a selection of race tracks to play on as well as a few battle tracks. The ones available will be complex and would normally have three laps. Decent examples could be Toad's Factory or Bowser's Castle 64, as well as the newly created tracks in this thread. Funky Stadium should be good to use for hide and seek, although it'll be quick. Online, those should only be available in smaller lobbies.

(This should be fun as long as the physics aren't like MK8[DX] and Tour)

Urban Raceway; Pauline; Microphone

Im going to be resubmitting my track Urban Raceway and connecting it with Pauline and her microphone.

6a844bd5e0ca0269eb77fb6049fcf7ee.jpg

Here's what her special item will do: When she uses the Microphone, a musical score will form around her and spread outwards for about 3 seconds before disintegrating. This works similarly to the Horn, but it doesn't get rid of Blue Shells and has a larger range (probably about 1.5x the radius of the horn.) As stated before, it spreads out, meaning that the max attack range isn't instant, unlike the Horn's.

Job 25:

New Racer: Princess Shroob
1622158725809.png

The antagonist of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Princess Shroob is the leader of a race of alien mushroom men that are hell-bent on conquering the Mario Bros' world. One of the many AlphaDream (May they rest in peace) original characters alongside Fawful, Princess Shroob contributes to a very unique variety in the Mario universe, both design-wise and tone-wise.

Special Item:
UFO Beacon
1622158698054.png

This little doohickey summons three Shroob UFOs that will do something different based on what position Princess Shroob is in during the race. They can either fly forwards and attack the one after her if she's less than 1st, and in 1st, they'll fly behind her in a defensive position barraging racers behind her with laser blasts. The former function has a single charge like the Shells, but the latter is more functionally similar to a Fire Flower.

New Track:
Shroob Mothership
1622158662875.png
1622158986047.png

The Shroob Mothership is a massive Shroob UFO that leads the Shroob Fleet. It is an ovular track that takes place both inside the ship and out. You start outside the track, just beneath the eyes, and drive your way around a simplistic ring before finding your way inside through the mouth. Throughout the outside are ramp-equivalent UFOs that drag you upwards like stereotypical UFOs do. Inside, meanwhile, is where things get a little more complex: you drive around the hallways inside the mothership's base and glide your way up to the "head" which leads to a gravity track orbiting a reactor core. Eventually, you jump off a ramp that makes you just graze the reactor core before flying out the eyes and crossing the line, effectively completing the track. In the background, you'll find Shroobs looking to dispose of these intruders, clearly confused as to what this alien tradition is. The only thing stopping them from actually attacking, however, is the presence of Princess Shroob, which eases her troops, either by direct orders in her alien language on caster screens, or through her participation in the race.

New Racer: Mini Mario
The main character of the mini mario puzzle series, he would bring a unique robot character to the franchise that isnt a mario kart one off like Arcades robo mario and a remix of an already established character like metal mario, he would have high collision, good handling, but sub par acceleration, he is also in mini luigi, mini Pauline, mini peach, and mini dk flavors. With DK and Pualine as racers it only makes sense for the minis to join as well, it just feels right.

New Item Capture Kong
1200px-CaptureKong_MvsDK2.png

His kart would transform into capture kong, a enemy from his games that would capture the minis inside his cannon like apparatus, in transforming into capture kong he would be slightly slower but he gains the ability to launch capture barrels into opponents to trap then inside, to free then you need to mash the button to break free of this predicament. However if hit with an item he gets stunned more.

c18b2c3af583bebcf8955778f43fefe6.jpg

New Stage: Mini Land Plaza
The main setting of Mini Mario's games, mini land would take place in a toy carnival, uniquely their are three routes that the track will cycle though with each lap, but they are in random order so to add some surprises

The first route is in the carnival area filled with happy go lucky toads trying to win mini toys, circus kong another common enemy that tosses minis would act as obstacles in this route acting the same way as they did in the games tossing anyone colliding them unless they get hit by an item which stuns them

The second route takes place in a roller coaster area, the fastest areas are on the side but red and blue shy guy roller coasters will periodically run down these lanes alternating, so a balance of when and not when movie though the hazardous sides is key to proceeding

The last route is the mini toy factories, it is also the most hazardous with weilder fire bros and mechanic shyguys making mini toys constantly, the mini shy guys will chime in the nearest kart and try to latch on to slow them down, while the mini bomb bombs explode on you, also their is a mini but large sized pirahna plant in the middle part of the route that breathes fire. Again these routes will switch their order at random and you go though each route individually in each lap.

Job 25:
Ninji
1622163952668.png

(there's surprisingly very few high quality images for Ninji)
He's round, cute, a ninja, and has been around since Super Mario Bros. 2.

Item: Ninji Shuriken

When shot forwards, the three shuriken will be fired in a cone in front of him. (One fires straight. One fires diagonally left. One fires diagonally right.) They fly above the ground and cannot be blocked by traps on the road.
When shot backwards. Ninji shoots the three shuriken in quick succession behind him, causing an extended stun to anyone they hit.
This projectile will only bounce once on walls before being destroyed.

Track: Ninja Hideaway
1622164753712.png

I was rooting for Ninji when this track was announced. This is the best Tour track, no contest. Although if it was to even make it to a mainline Mario Kart it would need some reworking done to its level design, since it is built with the smart-steering in mind.

Job 25: King K. Rool

Donkey Kong's arch-nemesis. Since his reappearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it'd only make sense for him to become a playable character in more spinoff games.

Item: Vortex*

When activated, K. Rool pulls out his Blunderbuss and begins vacuuming.
  • You can direct the direction of the vacuum with the control stick (forwards, backwards, sideways, whatever).
  • You can vacuum up ordinary items like Bananas, Shells, and even Coins (these are not added to your coin count).
  • After a period of ten seconds or so, everything you've collected is rapidly shot out in a barrage of items! Even Coins are shot out as ammo!
*The item icon for this is a generic tornado, so this item can be reskinned with similar functioning weapons like the Poltergust.

Track: King Kruizer V

kkruizer.png

The fifth iteration of K. Rool's flying airships. This track is essentially two tracks in one, each containing two laps; let me explain.
  • The first two laps are fairly short and take place on-board. The starting line is placed on a (currently closed) cargo ramp. Racers in the ship race through the mechanical areas like the deck and engine room, as well as more lively parts like the game rooms, where various members of the Kremling Krew can be seen playing cards or pool.
  • On the second lap, an alarm is sounded and all of the slacking-off Kremlings suddenly become hostile, throwing Bob-ombs onto the track and even getting into karts of their own to harass the racers (these Kremling Racers drive shoddy Karts which can be destroyed with a single item hit). When the racers reach the starting line again to begin the third lap, the ramp is already opened, leading racers to glide down to the second phase of the track.
kkruizer2.png

  • The third and fourth laps are normal-length and take place in a bramble-themed area from DKC2. The King Kruizer V remains in the background.
  • Here, racers drive on rickety wooden boards (which are often thin and branch off into other paths), take frequent glide ramps, and avoid the various tangled growths and Zingers infesting the raceway. Barrel Cannons are also available to launch your Kart and give it some extra speed.
  • On the fourth and final lap, the Kruizer finally figures out where the racers escaped and begins firing at will. Cannonballs are fired onto the racetrack, which can hit racers and destroy some sections of the track, sometimes including alternate paths! A second wave of Kremling racers is also deployed for good measure.
  • When the race ends, the King Kruizer V overheats and misfires, shown as a massive explosion on the side of the ship. It can be seen slowly drifting off in the background, before eventually crashing into the sunset-illuminated sea during the results screen.
Overall, this course is very dynamic and kind of tells a story as well, serving as representation of DKC2 and encapsulating the feeling of the Rocketbarrel levels in the newer games in the form of a Mario Kart track.

Job #25:
Ashley and Red

A character who needs no introduction - because her theme song handles that for her - and her oft-overlooked devil buddy, who appears in a similar fashion to Luma in Mario Kart Wii

Ashley and Red's special item would be a Fronk, who homes in like a red shell, jumps on a racer's head and disables them from drifting, braking, using items, or doing tricks

Ashley and Red's course would be the Variety Tower, a randomised course like Excitebike Arena that puts the racers inside brief snippets of different courses in the game, with the straight line Variety Tower office (an office space in a similar crayon-on black style to the below image) in between.
