Man, I'm so bad at Melee now. 
I never really played it competitively, and now I'm so accustomed to Brawl.

its in berlin(oooh yeeaaah) let me took up melee again^^
but i feel as if i am way slower in brawl when i play melee cuz brawl is so ****ing sloow^^
dunno whether i will quit brawl(don#t think so) but melee is 2 great...but brawl has online mode...ohhh snaaap what should i do?

Ah, Melee Mario > Brawl Mario but I'm terrible @ Melee too, my hands is soo use to Brawl.

i like the voice actor from melee too.too much rapez
Melee Mario was soooooo much more epic than Brawl Mario.
He just has so much more epic to spare that he still towers over the other characters despite his Brawl persona.
I used to only WD on Melee to hear Mario's trademark "Whoo!" over and over. Drove others crazy. Was music to my ears.

Marth and Falco make me cry in Melee.
My Melee Mario is almost legit. Almost. I just still suck, but I did actually manage to win a Melee tournament set with Mario. I beat some scrub Marth player LOL!
Even in Melee, I rely entirely on mindgames to get the job done. But I rarely get gimped lmao.

Yo guys, this strategy just hit me in the face, and it looks really useful and unique to Mario.
Fullhop Fireball edgeguarding. The idea is that you have a fireball covering the low recovery while Mario and his aerials/gimp tools cover higher recoveries, and by fullhopping while shooting the fireball, you control more space, and have a much better chance at edgeguarding your opponent. Fireballs imo are AMAZING for this due to the relatively low cooldown, speed, and angle you can shoot them at.
Of course, this doesn't hit people who recover directly below the ledge, so make sure you get them while they are still a decent distance away from the ledge.

Good idea, although not relatively new. I've done this a few times but not fully.
Doesn't address the 'recover high' problem, but does help out with range issues.
