ya teams please tell them people are getting mad that there aren't teams...
Ah don't worry. I'm sure another singles tournament would turn out excellent. Besides, I'm going to have fun with it...sure...but I'm also going for the win. I don't want to have to depend on someone else to help me get that win, know what I mean? Sounds greedy I know, but all it is in my case is an individual competitive spirit.

Uh, last time I checked, 2 tournaments is better than 1.

Not only that, but if you really wanted to "get that win" in doubles, you would have to depend on the other person to do well too.

And really if you did well in doubles, you would still make a profit, even after you would split the money with your partner. Phasion would just need it make it $30 per team.

In other words, I don't know wtf you're talking about.

Alright you need to relax. I didn't ask for anyone to go out of their way and start a debate about anything. What I mean is...yeah I would have to depend on my partner to do good as well, but I don't want to have to depend on anyone else period. Last I checked, it was ok to state my opinion in this country, so back off. >.<

In other words, I'm just fine with a singles tournament if that's all he can get going.
BTW, are you that Falco user who was really rude last time? I'm just wondering.

Yeah, I was that Falco user, even though I don't recall being rude to you. I think I faced you in a MM or something. Were you that Fox that just did a jump, then did a shine in the air most of the time?

Yeah that was me, but my Fox is not so basic anymore. I've had lots of time to improve with him. That was back when I first started using Fox, right after I switched from who you claim is the "gayest character in the game" Marth. So yeah, expect to see a lot of difference this time.

And saying "well...that's more money in the bank..." after winning a mm isn't exactly respectful either.

ok ok ok everyone, lets not get this thread too heated up. If there is any "Beef" (get it?) then it can be settled playing a game that is supposed to be fun at the tournament, so please just chill on that smack for now.

Also, SFG, I'm trying to get teams, but the place just doesn't want to commit that amount of time to the teams atm until we can get a regular occurrence of people coming. I had to cancel 2 tournies in a row due to lack of people so don't bet on teams this time around.

lol the setup is going to be easy now since they have the t.v.'s...I think it's 1 p.m. to practice but I imagine that you could get there early, i'll prolly get there around 11:45-12 just to make sure they get set up in a quicker fashion this time around.

No one cares? This is a forum which mean you can get flamed for anything you say.

oh man, getting pretty intense. How about we do this, keep the smack talking in it's respective places and bring the heat in the tournament. Better man will win.

Well actually in a fight the better man wins. In a smash game the smarter man wins =)
I just thought I'd point that out.

Hey, I was a little disappointed about the no teams thing too. I was just trying to be optimistic about the whole thing. I'm just happy there's a tourny period.

oh you'll get a chance, the DAD vs GONZO saga continues!!!
Yeah...but faster and more intense than the last time!!! XD

So, if you feel like telling me, what have you improved on since last time? In my case, I can consistently L-cancel without a problem, I'm not so patheticly predictable anymore (which'll be something I have to show in person), and just overall I feel like I've improved. ^.^

I know I just shined and used dair too much last time like SFG said (due to lack of SHFFLing, trickery, etc.), and I know my recovery was predictable as can be last time, but that's all history now. XD

Phasion's Falcon has been getting lessons from me.

No I'm kidding, but I did kinda sorta teach him to make his teching less predictable.

Also I wouldn't worry too much King Beef. Fox counters Falcon anyways.

in all honesty, SFG did show me some things, just not too directly. I dance a lot more now and I saw that he L-cancels after his short hop nairs into the sideways b, which I do now. I'm also relying on the knee a lot less and am just overall faster.

Hopefully we'll be able to get some practice in together to see how we match up again.

Sweet, 'till then man. ^.^

Oh and I want to see how my Roy does over there as well. The way I play him is sort of based on Sethlon's style of play. Only a tourny can tell if you've really made progress on a character, win or lose.

I know Roy doesn't have a lot of priority with his attacks, but I still feel that he can be quite effective if played well. I know many might not agree with this though.

Cool. I've been working on trying to predict my opponent's next move, especially teching. So far I think I've become pretty good at tech chasing with the JC grab. I also utilize the bair to its fullest when it comes to edgeguarding/making an approach. Like you said last time in person (which I didn't realize at the time), I had no sense of trickery (mindgames) and my tech skill wasn't so good either. So since then I've worked to improve on those qualties and I've made one hell of an improvement. So in a way, you kind of helped me out by making me realize just how horribly I used to play. So on the argument from before...truce?

So I don't think I'm gonna be able to go to this one, sorry Phasion. I'll be there eventually.
