1. I didn't have time to put in separate franchises for or so I put them with the Mario characters and 2. I don't know why, I just added Alm as an alt for so I can have the 2 protagonists of Fire Emblem Echoes (a remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden).

-New Side Special is his Hammer Spin. (From the Masked Dedede fight in KSSU)
-Kirby's Hammer Ability and it's attacks are implemented into Dedede's moveset.
-Inhale can pull in fighters.
-New Down Special is his Missile Barrage.
(Gordo Throw and Jet Hammer return as custom specials, When Dedede does his Hammer Spin the jet inside will activate making him faster)

Wario: (His move-set disappoints me due to not much Land representation.)
-Shoulder Bash becomes Side Special and New Down Special becomes his Earthshake.
-Wario Land's many transformations are implemented into Wario's moveset. (Flaming Wario as Dash Attack among more.)
-New Final Smash is The Wario Car. (whom he drives around running over opponents.)
-His yellow-purple overalls become his default costume.

If a reboot does indeed happen for the next game, which I wouldn't mind and it'd be a fresh start, you all are going insane with the roster. It will probably be something between 12(64)-26(Melee) And I feel even 26 would be pushing it. We should really be hoping for a good reboot and the way it plays as opposed to a crap-ton of fighters bloating the game.

Whenever this reboot does happen, I'd say the main ones will stay like Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, ect.

During E3 2018, all 65 returning characters were revealed and 3 new characters, Sakurai mentioned a couple weeks after that if he decided to make a new game instead of pre-existing ones, only a third of the roster would have been in, here's what a reboot could look like

Sure, people would rebuy the same DLC dudes again but it'd sour the reception of the reboot massively. I know I'd not be keen to paywall unlock the same characters again and again.

If the alternative is those characters being removed entirely, I can see why people would rather have them in the game in some form. Then again, my stance on the roster is "the more, the merrier", and cutting at least 2/3 of the playable characters doesn't sit well with me.

Alright, I think this thread needs to look at this problem from a new angle.

Whatever the next Smash Bros is, we can be certain of one thing: it has to be comparable to Ultimate with all of its DLC. Adding more stuff would be infeasible, and taking stuff away would make the game a hard sell no matter what you did to improve on what's left.

The only option, then, is to come up with something that only a brand new Smash game can do. A hook so incredible, so inherently hype, that it can compensate for a severe gutting of Nintendo's roster. In my opinion, there is only one thing that would fulfil that requirement. I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Super Smash Bros Vs. PlayStation All-Stars.

The only thing more hype than a crossover of Nintendo superstars would be a crossover between Nintendo and PlayStation. Two long-standing rivals with a rich history of unique, diverse characters, coming together to settle a thirty-year rivalry in a celebration of gaming culture. Seeing characters from both Sony and Nintendo appear side by side on both the Switch and PS5 would feel like a momentous, once-in-a-lifetime event.

And to the Nintendo fanboys here who insist that their characters are so much better than PlayStation guff: this would be your chance to prove it. Surely you would be excited for that?

For a reboot, keeping all three awakening reps make no sense when other parts of the franchise could be reperesented far better (Byleth with the weapon triangle, corrin representing manaketes) I don't see how the trainer can fight on his own (how would he work?) And the rivals typing make no sense to parallel the pokemon with. Also, no villager? He's the main character of animal crossing. Why would he not be included?

Although villager is the playable character and the main characer of the franchise, Isabelle is the mascot and more recognisable. This was probably why Pikachu was added to smash over Pokemin trainer in the first few games. Although one is the actual protagonist, they are not as popular as the one who has become the mascot.

Why? Robins the main playable character of awakening, one of the most succesfel fe games ever, is unique in that hes a tome user, and the fact he adds diversity, or as haters put it "anime swordfighters".
