You know, insteade of us spamming and editing others' crap, I suggest we have a nice friendly debate.

Why do you not want Geno in?

3.if he is 3rd party i would rather the slot go to someone better then him
4.why not have a mario rep who is like you know..important to the cast?(bowser jr. lugi ect.)

1. That is a lame reason. He is a puppet so that automatically makes him not fit? Kirby is a pink space alien and he fits in. Mario is a plumber. Fox is a... well, a Fox in space, Sonic is a Hedgehog and a puppet can't fit in along those lines?

2. That is your opinion. Your opinion doesn't count. Why do you hate him..

3. Actually, sources say he is a 2 1/2 party do to he used to be co-owned by Nintendo and Nintendo got him to make a cameo for Geno for free. The only price was to say that Geno is owned by Square.

4. Luigi is definately in. Bowser Jr. is not as important to Geno. If you think about SMRPG, he saved the Mario universe by fixing the star rod. Tell me that is not important.

thats better now for this i have no reason but then agian why cant mew be in?why cant sakurai himself be in?there is no reason because sakurai can do what ever the **** he wants to in this game

Ok... i like Geno and all but i disagree with him being more important than Bowser Jr. he WAS more important than him back in the day, but if we're talking about the whole franchise Bowser jr. is more important, first than all he's Bowser's son, and he was the main villain in one game and again a villain in Galaxy and probably a recurring villain unlike other villains like petey.

Now if Geno doesn't get in, then Bowser Jr. should. I think the debate of Mario characters should be between Bowser Jr. and Geno, not Waluigi or Paper mario.

And even if the fans argue that Geno was the main character in Mario RPG he was not, he aided he aided mario in his quest to destroy Exor and Smithy because it was his work. it wasn't the other way, he aided mario, mario didn't aid him.

he is basicelly the main villian in new super mario bros you fight him over and over when you only fight bowser twice

No... that means he is a recurring villain, by that Logic the Koopas have always been the main antagonist in Mario.

Im sorry but it's been clearly stated by both nintendo and S/E that Geno is owned by S/E making him 3rd party.

I'm sorry, but I had to call this out. Why does everyone think Claus will get in? He's a relative nobody, and he wasn't featured prominently in his games.

Because Sakurai got excited at the idea of spoiling Mother 3 when he saw Claus got as much attention as he did in Japan...

I just find it appalling that characters who only get recognition because of cultist gamers have better chances at getting in now (because of the poll) than gaming icons like Bomberman, etc.

Um, I heard that Bowser Jr. didn't ven deserve a spot period. I will admit that there may be a few characters that should get in before Geno but Bowser Jr.?

This isn't a god**** popularity contest. It is Brawl. I think someone even told me one time that popular characters are boring.

1, Zelda appears multiple times, and the objective is about her. Geno isn't the main focus of his game, nor the true star like Link. I don't know why you're pointing this out.

2. Ice Climbers are the stars of their own games at the very least, while Geno is second fiddle in one Mario game. And because of that one game, do you expect me to believe that he outweighs all those others? (Also the ICs have shown up more than Geno at this point)

3. Bowser Jr. is the end boss and basically main villain of two major Mario games (SMS and NSMB). He also shows up again in SMG, as well as many other games. He is more important than Geno by a long shot.

Geno doesn't have anything except cult popularity though. That's all that he'd really have going for him. He'd promote an old game, which can't be reused like the ICs or G&W. He doesn't represent anything that others couldn't do. There's just no good reason.
