Why should Sakurai add(again) 2 Marios to the roster instead of either another main villain with a large fanbase, or Geno who has a gigantic fanbase and had the same votes than diddy, Ridley and Ike? It makes no sense, and it would be incredibly stupid to have 2 marios... again. Even if they're movesets are diferent is completly stupid to waste a character slot in a Mario alterego.

Bowser Jr. on the other hand deserves the spot completely. The reason why I don't think he's going to get it though, is that he's a second Bowser, and that we'll have a second Mario before that. Now I know as well as the next poster that Bowser Jr. would play nothing like Bowser, but that doesn't change the fact that he's still another Bowser.

Actually it's not that dumb, since it happened before. Plus Mario is the most well known and popular video game character out there. And heck, his paper form does represent more of the franchise than Bowser Jr. And as I said before, although Bowser Jr. is his own character, he's still a second Bowser. Why would we get a second version of him before Mr. Video Game himself?

As for Geno, there is the problem that he is a third party character. He was mentioned the same amount of times as Diddy and Ike also, though in something that too many people mistake as a poll. (It wasn't popularity) The real problem as I see it though is that he represents so little in such a big series. One game and one cameo. That's it. He has as much priority as Fawful if judged by that alone. (You know this also makes me think of Mallow, and how it'd be kinda awkward that he'd be the only one from SMRPG not included.)

Geno for all intents and purposes has one game under his belt and a cameo. He was also not the star of said game. Outside of the popularity, there is no justification for him. I'd like to see him, as he was my favorite character from that game, but people have to be realistic here.

No, it's called a "journal". A "poll" adds up votes and gives results about said votes as in "The polls show that Mrs. Clinton is more supported here than other runners".

What Sakurai did was have people send him and his team suggestions for things like characters and items and than posted the suggestions that he and his team fond interesting enuff to reply about on his public journal. Those are not "votes", they are simply suggestions and could have been chosen for any reason.
