There's no argument. He was confirmed by Sakurai to not be in Brawl. If the Dojo was just a blank page that said in big letters "NESS IS NOT IN BRAWL", you would still say he is.

only PK Love and PK Flash are offensive PSI attacks Lucas has. Anything else is for support or healing (you can say he is the white mage of the group.

As to why PK Love was not given to him, well, let's wait for that other Mother 3 character we all want to be revealed. Maybe that's the reason why Lucas didn't get it.

This at least includes Kumatora in some way, just as the Snake Rope is a throwback to Duster.

MEANS: He was in the first two and not in this one.

Besides, Lucas was originally supposed to replace Ness in Melee until Mother 3 got delayed. Now he gets to.

but PK Rockin and Love are indeed the same move, and are known by those names in both US and Japan, and not only PK rockin here and PK Love there.
PK Rockin is used for Ness's signature PK, and PK Love for Lucas special PK.

actually it is, because that would insinuate that Sheik is separate from Zelda, which she isn't. it would make no sense; it would be that same as making Luigi a character, and Vacuum Luigi an AT... same person, just different abilities. same ****, different pile... either Sheik remains as part of Zelda, or she isn't there at all; and seeing as transforming is a cannon ability that Zelda has, as well as an original aspect in Smash, it would be a shame to remove it.

as for Lucas FS... well, if it didn't look so face pwningly awesome, I'd be complaining at how Not-Calling-Drago it is. :U

I confess I know nothing of Mother 3, but even if "PK Love" were logical serieswise, I can't picture what the heck a move so named is supposed to do. What, "I love you to death!"?? I'm imagining something along the lines of Peach's FS, but slightly more creepy coming from a little boy.

I agree, and to elaborate on what you say i'll add that the reason everyone calls it PK Love is because even if the game proposes a lot of names, even for the protagonists, Nintendo seems to take the first one as the official (hence Ness being called Ness and not any of the other possible names). Therefore, it's PK Love.

I guess they used Starstorm because it's easier to imagine what it does, and to illustrate it in the game (it makes stars rain on people, whereas it's more difficult to implement PK Love if it's supposed to be a "barrage of PK energy"... I imagine it would be potentially too similar to PKMN trainer and Samus' FSmashes). Starstorm is original, expected, and awesome.

The problem with that logic is Sheik is NOT in Twilight Princess, which is the game the current Zelda/Link are based on. So it's perfectly logical to either make Sheik a separate character or even an AT. Luigi is from many many games. Sheik is only from one. And I have a feeling Luigi WILL have his vacuum either as his Forward Special or Final Smash. I would also have no problem making another, different version of Mario playable, as per my sig. Hell, Link and Young Link were different versions of the same person, what makes Sheik and Zelda so wrong?

Link and Zelda's characters in SMash are basically representatives of the character a s a whole, as they are always done outside of the timeline theories of the Zelda games. That's why I tlel people we aren't going to be getting a Cel Shaded Link, and LoZ Link, a LttP, Link, and LA Link, OoS/OoA Link, etc.

Just because they look different or were in different times doesn't mean anyhting. They're still based on the same character as a whole. Even though Zelda looks like TP, she could easily have Sheik. That's actually the ONLY move in Melee that is actually true to her character. She has Din's fire in Brawl and Din's Fire never once appeared in TP, even though Zelda looks like the one form TP.

It’s a double update today, covering the aspect of special moves that can be charged, but of more interest, the Final Smash of Lucas, which to me, seems to be one of the more devistating attacks.

Before we get to Lucas (stop moaning) we’ll run though the chargable Special Moves. For those who haven’t played Smash Bros previously, some moves can be charged up, such as Link’s bow, wher the longer it’s held, the futher, faster and stronger it goes.

Other moves, like Samus’ charge shot, can be charged by just pressing B and it’ll charge by itself. It can then be stored, so you can charge it up and then in the middle of a fray, let lose a big blast.

These can be stored by either letting the charge finish, or by pressing the shield button. If you didn’t finish charging it all the way, next time you press the button, you’ll start charging from where you let off, so make sure you tap it twice if you want to shoot it early. Also, if you have fully charged it, there’s a subtle effect that’ll help you (and others!) remember it’s charged, like DK has some smoke coming out of his head when his Giant Punch is fully charged.

In regards to this update, Lucas' final smash looks like the $h!t. Lucas will possibly be one of my mains, so this is good. Very good.

I agree. I never said who will or will not be in the game, only who has been UNDENIABLY CONFIRMED and not "OH NESS CAN'T BE IN EVEN THOUGH THEY NEVER ACTUALLY SAID HE'S NOT" or "THEY SUBMITTED MODELS FOR SHEIK SO SHE HAS TO BE IN". (For the record, I think character variations like Tanuki Mario or Majora's Mask Link are perfectly reasonable if their movesets vary enough.)

Anyway, I am hoping for some GOOD updates next week. So far it's been kinda iffy. Yes, new info, but nothing groundbreaking yet. It's been far too long between new characters and story mode/stage updates.

His Final does look cool, it's pretty much exactly what I pictured as MegaMan's potential Final - Astro Crush. So I suppose that is deconfirmed, but it wasn't particularly likely to be his Final had he made it in anyway.

But Lucas still sucks. He has to be my least favorite Brawl character by far. I'd be more excited by the return of Pichu.

Oh, and the how to play update was pretty boring. All in all this update was boring, even with it being a double. The only thing I got out of it was how Sakurai mentioned "...among others" after explaining DK and Samus, which has me remotely curious.

maybe becouse Sakurai doesnt care to much about america, and because he helped doing Mother 3, and because he planned to remplace Ness with Lucas in Melee, and because Mother 3 was/is like really famous in Japan, and because Lucas is cooler (that last one is my opinion, and because..., and because...).
