Whats up smashers. I'm posting this from my iPod so I'll elaborate later, but, I'm looking to buy controllers from anyone willing to part with them. Details to come, but for now if anyone is interested just post :)

Well the thing is I've had controller problems for a while. Maybe like 5, 6 months ago, I bought another one from Play-Asia. (I always buy them from there) I've been breaking it in everyday, and it's finally broken in, I can tell. But, the controller is just bad. The C-Stick and the Control Stick aren't good. They register the wrong directions, often and by a lot. Like, I'll get back air instead of fair sometimes.

I don't know what else to do. Controllers are huge in Melee, now I'm buying controllers and they're just bad? Other people I know have had that same problem too, and I don't want to deal with the HASSLE of playing with a new controller until it's broken in again.

I find hot deals on all my GC equips at flea markets and local buy and sell shops. Right now is one of the best times to acquire that generation of gaming equipment. Maybe try that, and GL!

Yeah I just had 3 play asia controllers ship yesterday. Don't know if I really want them though. You're gonna play almost $50 for one w/ shipping.

IIRC silver controllers we're the "highest quality" controllers they made. I found one still in its original packaging for $45 on ebay, so at this point anyone who wants a good controller might want to go that route.

does anyone have any experience with the HORI gamecube controller? I'm interested in the quality of the controller, and the fact that there is a Z button on the left side (for cancelling). I use the HORI for the n64 for smash and its analog stick is vastly superior.

and no i'm not talking about the gameboy player HORI

^ from what i heard, n64 hori minipads just straight up use gc sticks lol. are you using the minipad? those go for insane prices nowadays

no clue how the gc controller is though. it looks okay but that's not a good gauge of quality at all. interesting oversized b button though

Hori 64 minipads don't use gamecube sticks. You'd have to be a special certain level of dumb to play with both and not tell the difference

IDK how good/bad the hori gc controller is.

Daaaaaamn.

I'd buy those for that kind of deal, and I've been using the same controller for 10 years with no problems. XD

If you dont wanna break in a controller just buy a new one that has a good control stick. Buy a Tri-Wing screw driver and exchange the guts. All you really need to change out is the control stick.

I have a bunch of broken controllers that I intend to fix when I get free time (never)

The control stick is the biggest part of breaking in a controller though. Only other thing that would really mess with me is a new L-button.

I tried replacing the guts on several broken controllers and the only control stick movements I could do was diagonal down-left and diagonal up-right =/
