This was the most stacked one yet. A lot of upsets and interesting attendance. Jband from Texas was in NJ for the holiday and decided to check it out... And won. Angel was sent to losers early by a Cloud and then eliminated by my crewmate, Lawz, as well as a bunch of other crazy things. I got to play Atomsk in singles and won, though he took game 2 from me which was really close. I ultimately got double eliminated by Biddy which is kind of infuriating since I came so painfully close. In Winners, it went to game 3 and I lost to a Dair spike from Toon Link... In Losers, game 5 it was a last hit situation and he just managed to land the kill. Great guy, player, and friend, but I can't help but be a little salty when the games were so close and I only lost to the same person the entire day. I still played well though, and he did a great job, so I can't be too mad.
After that first loss though, I played a Falcon afterword and he killed me with a grab release > Dair at 40 when I had him past 100%. Not gonna lie, something in me snapped because I was being robbed of games from obnoxious spikes, and I played so insane the next two rounds and double 2-stocked him. I somehow used my anger effectively and just played out of my mind. Like, straight savage. Felt good.
Also, I can't tell you how good it felt when two different people tried to counterpick me with Mario + Battlefield. So free.
We also won the crew event against 2 NJ teams and the Philly crew. Felt really good, though I felt I played a little sloppy, I clutched through when it mattered as the anchor last set. Proud of my crew and how far we've come.
Your video Camalange helped me learn how to spin shot and that is just ever so useful. So thanks Sonicboards and Happy New Year to you all!
Happy to hear it. Congratulations on your performance.
