Live & Learn: Sonic Tournament Results

The last tournament I did was 2 stock 5 minutes… Surprisingly, only one time out, and it was during one of my sets lol. Didn't anticipate winning a round by timing out that day. When you watch the match, it doesn't even feel like it's about to be a time out with the overall pacing. Even the commentators didn't notice until the giant 5 came on screen.

5 minutes is far too short… Needs to be at least 6 minutes for 2 stock.

I got knocked into losers for Winners finals against T-block and his /. Came back after a really clutch losers finals set against c-lusion's (it was last stock, I was at 140+% and he was at 40%; I crossed him up with a spinshot BAir while recovering and got a DAir stage spike for the win.)

After that I went on to clean sweep Grand Finals 6-0, ended the final game with Shulk cause I like Shulk against Diddy on places like Smashville.

Ron's House One is tomorrow, a big provincial tournament here in Alberta. Alphicans is unable to attend this, but Calgary has some strong competitors in this.

I plan on giving it my all and going for the win though. Wish me luck guys! There will be a stream as well.

That's what people were saying locally too until I did well using Shulk for some stages too.

Good chance I'll buckle down with Sonic for most of my matches though.

Nicely done, Kinzer! Shulk's lack of mobility by comparison to Sonic IS limited, yeah. But he makes up for it with range and the way that his style and properties can change with every art of the Monado. He's really, IMO, the most diverse and unique character in the game.

I used Burning Spin Dash for the entirety of the tournament. Pretty good.
I once again barely lost to Numbers 2-1. One day I will take it.

Also I went and cleaned up December and added a few tournaments that were left out, feel free to check if I've missed any.

I will continue to clean up the older records and get them into the consistent format that I've settled on, mostly for the sake of my own OCD side...but until then at least we're all caught up yayyyyyy

First actual customs legal tourney in my state. Things went over well for the most part but i literally ended up dropping both winners and losers finals sets when i had wins on both my opponents. The first being when i accidentally ran off and springed my opponent after they were going to SD and thus giving them their up-b back and then in losers where i had 10 seconds left to time out villager only to get hit by rage fair at 127 and die... Afterwards i ended up losing both game 5's both sets. Not to mention in doubles i cost my partner game 1 due to BSBS.......(i really hope that sakurai and the dev team either fix that if it is indeed a bug or change it if it was a conscious attempt at balancing the move)

Absolutely, if anyone wants to post his records for the glory of Sanic, go for it.

I know he's "the" sonic right now, but don't just limit it to him. There are plenty of other sonics putting in work that don't think to post here, so if anyone notices A1 results from others, posting them here would great.

We try to, but he doesn't participate in this forum. Some people post his and other Sonics who don't check here's results but it's hard to babysit everyone.

If anything, if anyone was so interested, I'm sure you could check 6wx's rankings on the site and check his records there then report back. I know he definitely claims his rankings at least.

Yea. Pools were terribly done. Even talking to faker about it he said hes never trusting the person that made them ever again. pool 5 and 6 were ridiculously free as well.
