Alright people, I've been having trouble figuring out how to record my replays, but thanks to Oddler's offer and thread
(which is found here) I'm now able to show you my stuff.

Only one replay today, I should have more by say, the end of the week.

Video log 11/20/08

1 Stock Match: Link vs Fox**

Video log 11/19/08

(Offline Match) Link vs Olimar****

Link vs Falco
***
Sorry NintenJoe, I recorded this match before the advice...too many aerial Up-B's :p

Link vs Sheik**

Video log 11/18/08

Link vs Mario/Snake/Olimar:
I decided to add some music to the fights (because everything is better with music). This includes 3 matches. The first two are old, but the third is the unreleased Olimar match. It's no combo video, but I'm experimenting with the tools I have, enjoy.

Video log 11/17/08

Link vs Snake*
Lag kills it, but it has a few good parts.

Video log 11/16/08

Mini Match:
Link vs Olimar

Link vs Peach***

Link vs Mario***

Link vs Snake**

Question: Who enjoys the pics I put up on the top of the thread? Does anyone like them, or should I just stop?
Question 2: Are there any tourney goers that'll like to give any advice?

Fun matches. Maybe grab more? It seems like in those matches you never really needed to unstale your moves with grabpunches, but you were using a low of smash attacks. You spread out your moves well though. Just remeber the game only remebers the last 9 moves.

@HylianBoy: Nice sig! and Thanks.

@Blu: Too bad, I might have a replay or two, but there's too many Mirror matches I have between Arkive, Kalm, Blubba, You, Agent Snop, and so on. I would be able to find it if only I COULD JUST NAME THE REPLAYS IN THE FIRST PLACE. How could they miss that?

@Metro Knight: Thanks, I'll consider it much. I don't like leaving myself open for too long, so I only use smashes when I'm sorta sure it'll hit. :)

Wait what? Last 9 moves only? I really should read the tactical forum more. Care to explain this to me a little more?

P.S. that's some crisp video quality there! The guy that did that must have been a pro :psycho:

Thanks, I get that a lot.
Anyone needs any of these codes, do let me know.

Those were great for online matches. I can see why the DAC was a too risky move. Anyway, can't give any tips because i'm still a newbie, and not playing much until I get a GCN controller.

Nice matches, Lnk, I saw a lot of good things:

1. You fair like a friggen pro. You use it just enough and you rock at it!
2. Your playstyle is a good mix of projectiles and close range moves.
3. Your air game in general was conservative and well-thought out.
4. All of your Dairs landed right on target. Quite a feat, if I do say so myself.
5. DAC isn't necessary for gamplay. It's a nice addition, but situational.

Also, some bad things:

1. You hardly ever jab cancelled. Jab cancelling is an essential part to Link's game and a great way to rack up damage.
2. Off the edge game needs a little work. (Even though you ravished Snake's last stop with a spin attack, its not something you should make a habit of. It was super cool though, I must admit)
3. I didn't see you DIing very much, try to add that to gameplay.
4. Edgeguardddddddddd!

Overall, I was very impressed. You're one of the few Links I see who bases their game on jabbing and close range combat effectively. O_o Just add a few little things to improve your game a little bit more. :)

Thanks, I'll be sure to keep stepping up my game. As for the jab cancel thing, I thought It was a jab or two, followed by some other move rather than repeating it...or am I just getting this all wrong? :psycho:

@Blu: That's gotta mean something, eh?

You were the first player who actually knew how to play Link, I played.

Nice matches.

LinkSpecialist what did you do to poor Mario :(. Haha, I'm fairly certain that Mario was Jo-P, he used the Wario costume.

Very nice Link, will have to watch the rest later.

@Kalm: You and I have come down a long road haven't we?

@Matt07: I believe I have one against Bo X7. Wait for it. :p

@Blubba:...Specy? Sounds like a kind of sauce you would put on a taco. I like it. :D

@Nintenjoe: I forgot to mention, I use the Spin attack for off the edge KOs more often than you might think. It's not the strongest move, nor the most easiest to hit with, but it kills at around 130% if done right. Oh, and it's kinda too late...I've already developed a habit of using it...

Actually, I don't think you really need to DAC. Most of the time you just get punished for it, but every once in a while you can get a combo out of it, which is all it's good for. It's worthless for approaching. I liked your fairs, as other people said. Try to short hop aerials more, especially bairs and nairs. Short hopped fairs also work pretty well. Fast falling and short hopping will really speed up your game.

I know it may be a habit, but please, please try not to do a midair up+B on the stage to attack...as fast a faller as Link is, it will still get you punished. Maybe if you can pull it off and get one kill in a match, do it, but if you try it more than once against a good opponent, they're going to avoid it. Also fsmash less, and try not to just sit there charging a smash, it doesn't do much good.

Dair is an awesome kill move, I suggest you try to become comfortable using it, just don't spam it like I do. It's great because it stays out for so long, and because it's so powerful, some opponents might panic when they see you use it and immediately dodge, only to end up getting hit by it as soon as the dodge ends. It's not quite as useful when your opponent is on the stage, but it's good for edgeguarding every now and then, and for punishing lag at high percents.

I liked your use of projectiles, but consider throwing bombs down less. You seemed to have a habit of pulling out a bomb and immediately jumping and throwing it on the stage, even though you rarely hit with it. Throwing them directly at your opponent is often more useful, and throwing bombs upwards is great, because it makes your opponent pay attention to where they are, as well as "blocking off" sections of the stage temporarily. Don't be in such a hurry to get rid of bombs, you can do a lot when you have one. ZAC is a good technique to use (drop a bomb in midair, use an aerial to catch it), and simply dropping bombs on your opponent can be a useful mindgame every now and then if they're expecting you to throw it down, as it can hit them out of a sidestep dodge. Holding a bomb also can help protect you from a lot of attacks, particularly grabs. It's a great way to disrupt your opponent's game if they're controlling the match, and gives you a chance to take the advantage.

All in all, nice Link.

@Monkey: Thanks.

@Hue: Very true about my bad habit's with the down-throwing bomb thing. I use it more for keeping foes in check when spacing more than I do for damage, but ya, I can see your point

As for the whole Aerial Up-B situation, Let's all agree it's my signature kill move. If anyone disagree's, I'll use it on you on Wi-Fi. :D I have killed quite a few with it.

I use it a lot too after seeing you use it. It's the riskiest, dumbest, most punishable thing ever. But it makes the kill all that much sweeter by being all that. All EC Link mainers should use it.

@Blu: "Gasp" It's catching on! :D

@4Serial: It's not whatever! :) If they choose not to hit that shield button when they see something like that coming they deserve to have 1 stock removed from there lives. XD
