This isn't true actually. Brawl Link and Sm4sh Link are identical in mobility with the sole exception of upB. They have the same walk, run, and dash speeds; they have the same fall speed and fast fall speed; they have the same weight; and their first jump is the same as well. I think that only the second jump was slightly buffed but I can't remember accurately though.

It feels like Link has better air movement and jumps higher. His weight says 104 in both games but it feel like I can survive longer, this might relate to other factors though.

Link's double jump in Brawl was flat out abysmal. Took him almost nowhere.

Yeah I remember that, that's why I mentioned the second jump (I refuse to ever even touch brawl again thank you). First jump remains untouched though so that's the only mobility buff we received. @ Zelkam made a video comparison of both and we were all shocked at the fact that they are almost exactly the same, down to start up and end lag of his hits.

I can't check it now because I'm on my phone, but iirc Links double jump and aerial spin definitely go higher. His dash and air speed might be a tad faster, but I'm unsure. Also it seemed that his full hop and short hop had the same height but he reached the apex of the jump sooner in smash 4. Everything else as far as mobility goes was the same.

Also, I'm pretty sure Dsmash has the same start up speed in smash 4 as it did in brawl. I'm not 100% sure on that but I don't remember them being different.

Does anyone else go on loosing streaks? Like i was playing great last night on FG, then all of a sudden i lost one, and then couldn't buy a win for quite some time. It's not that i was loosing to good players, but more handing them the W. Fast falling too quick going for D airs, blowing my self up at high % and all sorts, ruining my recovery etc.

FG sucks so don't worry about it. Also, what you're saying sounds as if you were autopiloting. That's when you're just playing for playing and aren't really paying attention anymore. It usually signals that it's time to take a break.

When playing For Glory people tend to keep going, playing and playing and playing, whereas in real life people play a few friendlies with someone, then leave for a while. Try putting the controller down for a minute or 10 after you've lost, and see whether your win record changes.

I'm probably not what you call a competitive smasher, i don't play for the W per say, i just play to have fun, get combos, go for extreme kills. FG has alot of people who spam the same thing and win, annoying as almost impossible to beat when lag is involved, but as i said, otherwise i just have to play the CPU over and over, and that's no fun with their reading inputs and everything.

I think @ Dumbfire is just suggesting that to turn off the auto-pilot try just taking a bit of a break. I can get into the same drone sometimes and find that stepping away is a good way to break it. I know you're not necessarily playing for the win, but I tend to not have much fun playing if I see myself making the same mistakes over and over.

I'm fine with FG, actually. I have to intentionally watch for bad habits and make sure not to form them, but right now it's kind of the only way I can play real people and get a peek at some matchups. My crazy schedule and terrible internet, where Smash can be the only thing running in order to not lag horribly, means that I can really only jump on at random times and have to get off at less than a moment's notice. I do have a bit of a smash group going, though, and we had our first "official" tournament (that I couldn't make it to) so I guess it will get better.

I hate Game Theory.

God. Like, everything about it. I really tried giving it a chance, but I hate it. Even the way the guy sounds and delivers the "information" is grading to my ears.
