I hate to burst the bubbles of all of these people trolling ZIO but Doom 3 was actually considered a pretty solid FPS for its time.

But really, the beta was so bad.

It's a completely different game and experience from the beta. The beta release was one of the worst things they could have done to themselves as it was a version of the game almost a year ago in development. They cheated themselves out of a ton of preorders and dropped their potential sales because many normal folks are too ignorant to believe a beta isn't the final product.

Happens all the time.


And many critics would agree. BF3 is a better, more solid game than CoD has been in the last four years.

DOOM and DOOM II, along with Wolfenstien 3D are some of the finest games this side of DOS.

Remember back when people actually knew **** about video game development and realized that a beta was a work in progress that had several ideas and mechanics that were poor and would be dropped in the final product? Me neither.

EDIT: Doom 3 isn't a bad game, its just that its different from Doom I and II which were closer to adolescent power fantasies while Doom 3 tried to put the franchise into a more realistic perspective.
