Whoever makes it, make sure there is a poll involved.

Also, rock-paper-scizzors over who gets it.

Go.

Or you could Courage-Wisdom-Power it.

1,2,3 Courage! Courage beats power, I win.
I'll start a new general discussion thread. How do I make a poll?

A new thread means we can edit the title of the thread without needing a mod to do it.

It's fun when you can make funny titles like in the old one when I posted a huge theory about the temples in Ocarina of Time from Gamefaqs, Susa made a joke how who made the theory had no life, :p.

It's mostly for fun like most chat threads are.

But Scabe, it gives this thread character! Makes it unique! You can't just do away with that poll! It brings back memories!

*has no idea what memories should even be brought back*

Ah Huggles <3

I hope the new thread title isn't too pessimistic. At least it's not as depressing as before. :urg:

Anyone been playing any Zelda games lately? I really should play Oracle of Ages that Arcade sent me through mail. So nice of him! But lately I've been playing Chrono Trigger. I've finished it a while back and like I got this sudden urge to play it all over again!

I like the thread title. I think it's clever and funny.

I've been meaning to finally finish Twilight Princess, but I moved away for grad school and the game was my old roommate's. I plan on fixing that this summer when I move back there. I've been playing Tales of Symphonia and Megaman 4, 9, and 10 to tide me over 'til then. I got to Ganon in the original Nintendo version a couple months ago and he killed me and then I ragequit and haven't picked it up since then :(

Ever played Tales Of Phantasia? That game is AMAZING.

I got Megaman 9, never finished it and don't play it that much. That's one of the problems I have, I have like a thousand games, but I never commit myself to finishing them. I tend to play a bit of a game and then move on to the next one. Before Chrono Trigger I was playing my old Pokemon Pearl file, and started to get into competitive side of Pokemon. I've played for 80 hours+ and I've only gotten 5 badges no joke

Also I've been playing alot of Chess lately.

Haha, nope, haven't played Phantasia, but I've kinda wanted to since I hear it's set in the same world as Symphonia.

I loved Mega Man 9; the only Achievement I haven't unlocked is Mr. Perfect, since I screwed up on the third level in Wily's castle in the gravity lift part and got mad and quit (haha, a recurring problem). I don't tend to pick up new games very much, I mostly play a select few that I really love or for the nostalgia value. I never bothered with Ruby/Sapphire or Diamond/Pearl, but I had to pick up SoulSilver since I remember playing it when the original came out when I was 12. Chrono Trigger is a great game too, and Final Fantasy 6 may be my favorite game of all time. Just so many memories.

LOL at the thread change .

Kinda sad that all my hard work is gone so quickly though, I only took over it because it seemed like you wanted a new thread owner

Also ouch on that video in the OP :urg:

Just to let you guys know, I'm going to MLG Columbus, OH - June 4th-6th.

I fully intend on going solo Link here, but I know at my current level I would get crushed, so I have a favor to ask. When I get out of college for the summer can people play me on wifi and critique me heavily. I fully intend on placing with Link, like I'm going to be practicing 5/6 hours a day 2/3 weeks before the event starts, don't tell the Lucario boards I'm going solo Link.

I will practicing Lucario here and there so I don't get rusty with him, but Link is my main objective for practice.

Haha, awesome Red Ryu! I live a little closer than Australia (still halfway across the country in good ol' South Carolina, ha) but I'd be happy to help. I don't think learning Link dittos is gonna be very helpful in the tourney, but Wolf is one of my seconds, and have a decent (but by no means pro) Wario and Dedede you could practice against. The rest of my characters you're probably not gonna see a whole lot of at a big tournament, ha.

Awsome. I was wondering if there was one on the Link boards anywhere. Nice thread.

Sometime hopefully in the near future I'll attend a tournament. Right now I've got school and work so those two things have been taking up a lot of time. It's not a problem for me though because I know I wouldn't do all that well with Link at a tournament with my abilities anyways. This down time gives me a chance to play a few matches against friends here and there. I'll wind up being better prepared for a tournament sometime this summer when I do attend one.

I wish nintendo would re-release Chrono Cross! After beating C Trigger I really want to play it.
The passwords on Oracle of Ages/Seasons are different for different file names. I might have some that work for 'Link'.

I got to Ganon in the original Nintendo version a couple months ago and he killed me and then I ragequit and haven't picked it up since then :(
Ganon drains your heats at an insane speed! He dies fast too. You have to retrace the whole dungon if you die:urg:. Save after getting the red ring and silver arrows.

Also I've been playing alot of Chess lately.

Good luck!
I'll probable never attend out of state tournaments, my insomnia is h*** and I'm really inconsistent:urg:. I play well when I feel ok, when I don't I miss ledge stall Fairs and Zair tethers. It's frustrating.

Someone who knows how to powershield well and grab is you're worst enemy; practice Zair and hitting from the tip of Link's reach. Dash Attack Canceling isn't as good as it seems in some of the videos posted.

I recommend you guys getting BrawlBox. You can view all of Link's animations such as his attacks, landing lag, pretty much everything frame by frame.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IChaHdUpw80

Some things I thought were interesting was that soft landing lag is 16 frames while hard landing lag was 31.

It is confusing to set it all up and work with but it's definitely useful once you know how to work it. I personally still don't know how to work it but after a day I've started to get the hang of it.

I'm sorry guys but this is all rushed so my instructions will probably make no sense but I hope you can sorta see what I'm trying to get at.

What you guys need:

BrawlBox: http://brawltools.googlecode.com/files/BrawlBox v0.63d.zip

FitLink: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZU2ISCYT

Motion: http://rapidshare.com/files/381692285/FitLinkMotionEtc.pac.html if this link fails use this one: http://www.mediafire.com/?wk4jwomo4mj

Steps:
Download all the links. Extract files if you have to.
Open up BrawlBox, open any of the FitLink00 to FitLink06 (the numbers mean different textures)
Click Model Data(0)
Right Click on the Grey FitLink and do preview.
Now you should be in preview mode.
Load up Link's motion

And that's it in it's most basic written by a dummy form.

I haven't played much Zelda since I beat Zelda II again a while back... amazing game. I have been playing Link online in Brawl though, and found a stupid trick with him. I'll show it to you guys when I can record it, but it involves jumping, double jumping, and fastfalling a bomb dthrow so you can auto-powershield the bomb. Useless, but fun to do. I just love hearing that powershield sound.

I hate hearing that powershield sound because it means that my opponent did the easy as hell Brawl powershielding and can punish me at their leisure. Also the easy powershielding makes Link's projectiles not worth a dang thing. fun times.

In theory, a player should be able to Power shield all of Falco's lasers shot at them, projectiles in theory should suck balls yet people can still make camp games out of it because the projectile forces a defensive option and there are bad areas where trying to PS a projectile is actually a bad idea.

He shows the usefulness of Powershielding, the necessity of approaching, and the utility of baiting. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Mike is my favorite Brawler of all time...

Except that falco has the fastest projectile that is also the most spammable. Whereas Link's projectiles are all slow and easily PS'd or avoided while not really having to compromise on approach.

Zelda II. How annoying is it when you game over? You pretty much get a seizure. :p
It nicely complements the string of profanities often unleashed at that moment too. But hey, at least it's your fault when you die in Zelda II, unlike in games like I Wanna Be the Guy, where random spikes fall from the sky with no warning.

What ticks me off even more is Link's air movement + the opponent PSing. Link can't move very far and has trouble getting behind opponents or landing where they can't shield grab and do mean chains or combos.

^Also Falco has a piercing range attack; most attacks won't cancel lasers. He can shoot through Meta Knight's tornado (lucky b******).

Woah there boy. There were a few moments were he tried to make that look like the Melee Falco v. Marth MU. We can't have any of that in Brawl.

Now we know that one can indeed force an approach out of Falco using Marth. Lol...

Finally, a good new AT!

I finally figured out a good version of Hylian Guard Sliding! Link has terrible roll dodges and a great spotdodge:
Frame 1: Intangible
Frame 20: Vulnerable
Frame 25: IASA
Frame 1-20 intangible, can’t even be grabbed, followed by 5 frames of lag. The problem is we have to include shield raising and dropping lag and Link stays in place. Not anymore!
Spot Dodge Sliding:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaoM16bMoG0
Dash strait into a spot dodge: Dash then shield and rotate the control stick down diagonally. Or dash then press 'shield' and 'C' down while holding the dash direction on the control stick.
Link slides the distance of shield dashing while spotdodging without shield raising lag. The follow-up I borrowed from Yoshi players; cut the shield drop lag by buffering attacks from the spot dodge. I don’t have frame data, but like the video shows, Link can attack as fast as from shield dashing. Any ground attack can be used.
