^I noticed your arrow canceling was good :)

Lol I just played someone and beat their falco with Link, 2 stocked their MK with G&W and made their Marth rage quit with Zelda and got lectured on how I'd lose offline. He also used a Snake and spammed smashes with everyone. It's always funny when people lose -3MUs than call me bad. :p

Made Doubles Loser Semis in a tourney today of about 12-15 teams. I had a hype set where the first and third matches ended in me doing a 2v1 with a huge crowd watching. I camped hardcore for about two minutes in one of the matches before they both simultaneously airdodged into me, and then I Spin Attacked them off opposite corners of the screen, ha ha. I've never been so nervous in my life--I hardly made it to some seats nearby after the set to try and gather myself.

Singles started sometime after 6:30pm when they were scheduled for 4 at the latest, so I couldn't participate. But a little practice this week evidently paid off, ha ha.

EDIT: Here's the doubles results/bracket:

Super Smash Bros Brawl Doubles
1: Sir Pansies of Weepalot (Kev + Chris)
2: free g kirbs (ken + dscrub)
3: Young Samson (Ebo + Isee)
4: Proboners (Staz + Proboner)
5: Bottom Tier (Anonano + Ben)
5: Team Metaknight (Shiro + Wack Bot)
7: Sparkles n' Hearts (Tsu + Charity)
7: Super sonic butt fisting (Tane + Rockmix)
9: Zeros/Pwny (Zeros/Pwny)
9: The Midnight 50 (Ty + Steve)
9: The Swordsmen (Tobuscus + Ike)
9: Jeesh (Braden + Montana)
13: Red&Blue (Chain + Blurb)

Bracket - http://imageshack.com/i/0j2vkpp

Also, my teammate, Ben, got 9th of 25 so I only wish I had stayed to rep Link in Singles, ha ha.

And Ben and I stayed true to our team name, we ran a Link/Jiggly/Yoshi team the entire time, lol!

^ yeah, congratz Ano!

I also am sorry for not having really anything to say. I'm trying to conclude my semester. I'm borderline in a few classes so I have a chance to keep my good grades, or improve them, while also having two presentations Tuesday I need to conclude work for. I also am trying to wait and see what is going on with Smashcon for this winter. We had a venue out in Baton Rouge, but they called my friend and said they couldn't do it even after someone in the marketing dept. told us they could so we are scrambling for a replacement venue. As soon as that happens, I have to start blasting the marketing campaign.

I lost to a scrub Lucario last night which has prompted me to some serious thinking about my playstyle. I realized that that was my match to lose because I was so intent on whittling him up to 150%+ and destroying him mentally, but I'd done the opposite--I made him more confident than ever because he knew I was going to let him get to 180%+ if he just rolled away and spammed aura sphere and that that would give him a chance against me. So this morning I got up and practiced and realized that what my playstyle really lacks is a point where I switch from damage racking to seeking a KO. I learned Link can reliably kill Lucario with dair by 120% and that most of his other kill moves start working around then as well. It's too easy for me to focus on shutting players down without following up on it and capitalizing on kill %s, so I am going to focus way more on finding kill percents and switching to kill setups there, lol.

I'm sure you guys have noticed in WiFi matches with me that you're killing around 120%-150% where I am consistently letting you get to 180%+. So its something I definitely need to change.

I feel your pain. I need to sit down and really think over my style. I love bombing, but my issue is that I'm not going about it intelligently enough. My biggest flaw, I find, is that because people know I'm going to pull out a bomb, they can just attack me while I'm pulling out the bomb. We all know it takes forever to do, so I can easily be punished, and instead of me brining the pressure game like my bombing style is intended to do, they have me on the ropes first thing. I'm just... too slow for what my style demands. My mobility sucks, so I really am going to work on being deadly accurate with my bombs and the most mobile Link in PM. Even after all these years, I like what the bombing style has done for me, I just need to improve it. In relation to you Ano, I also find I don't kill until higher percents because the bulk of my damage comes from bombs and boomerangs. I really don't know how to set up for a kill unless I somehow get lucky with some mix-up and pull off a sweet combo.

Link-> King of Combos forever.

Congratz on the gf Bomber :)

Lol, Lucario's not a character to let live at high %s .
In brawl Link's bombs take 40 frames to pull iirc. One of many reasons Link needs to use all his projectiles. Never bomb pull if Link can be hit unless it's to protect vs CGs.
A reason Link is so hard to use is he must adapt fast in battle. He has no real camping or aggression or KO games but he can adapt into anything quickly. If Link tries to camp or go aggressive etc for too long he'll fail and get owned. The best way to judge what to do I've found is base it on spacing (my famous tip-of-attack speech goes here :awesome:). Try to chain attacks too.

To KO, Legan was actually the player who taught me this, Fair is a surprisingly good option because it supports Link's spacing when Fsmash and Ftilt don't. Fair is great if you notice a dodge habit. It also hops over than punishes a lot of low attacks like getup attacks and ledge stuff.
Link actually has good KO options, his mobility doesn't help of course but things like Utilt (frame 7), Dsmash (6) have decent speed and power over a big area. You have to not let opportunists pass by to chain attacks and KO or gimp.

Thanks Rizen. :)

Also, you need more Touhou in your life, Rizen. The OSTs for this game are amazing and always get me pumped. Dark Phoenix is my favorite artist that does remixes of Touhou songs. This one is one of my favorites so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNgcOHrRI6Q

I promise you, listening to Touhou ost's is a great way to start your day.

I'm really liking this soundtrack, Bomber :D

I'd love to play friendlies in 1/2 hour Rizen if you're still around. I'm just going out to grab lunch first.

Touhou really transformed me. My history with music is not the best. I tried band when I was in grade school, couldn't get that much into it, I was forced to sing in my school choir as well. I tried picking up guitar and never could find time to practice it. The skill curve was over my head compared to a piano or a wind instument which complimented my ability to play by ear. I began listening to music as I entered highschool (kinda figured that's what you started doing in highschool), and rock just consumed my life. However, there just wasn't as much connection to it as I had thought. It wasn't until I was introduced to Dark Phoenix, that my connection to music was brought to life. Dark Pheonix allowed me to listen to the music on a much deeper level. I am able to listen to music and picture in my mind how each instrument is being played. It makes it more fun when I play air guitar or air drums while listening. I have a much greater appreciation and connection to music than before even though I will probably never wind up playing an instrument.

I like that. I'll have to check them out :)

Yeah, you need the right band/artist to get into music. I really like R.E.M. and Rush.

This dog has been hanging by the telephone office that my uncle has been working at. My uncle finally decided to bring him home tonight. He's going to stay the night and tomorrow, we're going to hook him up with his new home. He's absolutely adorable and lovable.

Me and the new pup.

Him by himself

So I played PM with a guy who plays melee and "doesn't play P:M" as a matter of fact hates it. However, I could tell he does like it enough to have played it all night with me and I have to say, holy **** did I get my ass handed to me. He destroyed my Link so bad with everyone he played. His movements were so good. I think I only took a couple games off him or maybe just one against one of my games against his Falcon. I have so much to learn, but not I've gotten to see just a little bit of what skill level I need to reach. I definitely think it's doable, I just need more practice with guys like him. My Link needs more mobility, I need to learn to actually use wavedashing with Link and learn to actually mix things up. For a guy who "doesn't play P:M" he knew a lot of stuff about it. He did kinda have that cockiness that I find in most Melee players, but at least he wasn't a complete **** about it. Looking forward to playing P:M today at my tournament I'm hosting. I don't care if I come in last, I want to get better.

Bomber7 for best Link 2014, be better than Hylian.

I tried P:M and didn't know WTH I was doing. I got 5 stocked but 3 were SDs trying to quick Zair edge hog, lol. It plays really differently than Brawl. Rather than learn P:M I'm waiting for SSB4.

I htnk that's a lot of people's attitude right now. When I first played P:M, Link just came naturally to me because he played the way I wanted him to play. Needless to say, I've stuck to it since.

...It looks like Mario Galaxy is a stage in SSB4. Which will probably be banned in competitive smash :/. It's taking forever for SSB4 and ZeldaU to have solid info released :C.

Sonic Lost World is fun once you figure out how it works. It's very trial and error based but gets easier once you know what each element does. The cutscenes are well paced and Eggman isn't a buffoon like in Colors.

I'll upload some nature pictures once I sort through them.

As of right now I can say I'll only be playing Smash 4 for fun. Whether or not I'm better with another character, Link will for surely be my main.

By the looks of it P:M is progressing far faster than Smash 4. The downside with that is P:M was meant to be 100% competitive, whereas Sakurai probably will take more into consideration the casual audience due to plenty of the community's speculation. The more I think about it, I'm like...Heck that's why I still have fun with Brawl. In spite of the fact I don't play it competitively anymore it's still a really fun game.

P.S. Bomber you should be my Wi-Fi doubles partner in P:M someday. We would also need a name for our ZeLink team. :D (Though I'll note that I go Sheik in some of her really bad match ups).

Being 100% competitive isn't a good thing per say, but since they don't have to sell it for a company and can just fit it a niche audience it works.
