You discovered Midva!
I think it's just that they made aerials in general have alot less lag since they kinda took the l-canceling out.

And this is something thats been bothering the hell out of me.... Has anyone seen falcon hit someone with a **** knee yet? I've been trying to see how much **** carried over from melee but all the people I've seen use CF suck horribly.....

but it wasn't a little lag, it was NO lag. It went from Bair to Ftilt instantly. As a Kirby main, I can tell you that was faster than I can do it WITH L-canceling.

And yeah, I was wondering about the Knee too, but at least we got a FALCON PWNCH.

well i am one that will be disappointed if a form of lag cancel is not in the game. Watching that video makes me feel a lot better because it appears there is, and if it can be done once, we will find out how to do it again.

Lol, they said the same thing about the Super Yo-Yo Glitch >_>

j/k j/k, Im hoping this means we have some sort of L-canceling in Brawl myself. The removal of AT's is the most ******** thing ever. WD isn't THAT important, but things like L-Canceling, Reverse Nutral B, Special Attack Lag Cancel, THOSE were important. I dont want to have to play Melee forever:ohwell:

YOUR RIGHT! But does it look a little like he's landing before he turns around? Like, it starts facing one way, he hits the ground and then turns around? I cant really tell, cus the quality is sort of bad.

I suspect it has something to do with Corneria and the way the ship moves slightly. A very similar thing happens with Jigglypuff's rollout when used on that stage in melee (and others with moving ground/platforms). When the ship is moving in a certain direction (towards you in this case) it causes Jiggs to not bounce up after impact, because it messes with you actually leaving the ground and you land at the same time you leave the ground since the floor "catches" you as you do.

Most likely they landed, then right as they did the ship was moving enough (probably down) so that it cancelled the normal attack landing and caused him to "re-land" and get the regular landing. Looking at it frame by frame it's definitely the normal landing animation and not the attack animation.

Have you seen it anywhere on normal ground?

Things i saw from that video:

Marth will definitely have varitions in his metagame. His swrpd range is noticeable less... but he has some moves which send enemies flying in a slightly different way, for example his counter andf his non-sweetspoted down smash.

Reverse falcon punch for the win!! definitely :D

and yeah kirby has very little lag in that back air.... good news indeed. , maybe we are missing somethjing.

Did anyone notice Captain Falcon's new DAir properties at 0:39? Looks like nipple spike, only without the spiking part and a whole lot more horizontal knowckback. And I suppose less nipple, more...hip.

That isn't l-canceling in the video. He doe an UP aerial which is auto canceled, allowing him to d-tilt.

Couldn't we just ask someone who has the game if there is Lcanceling... Seriously there is probably a bunch of people here who have it or know someone who has it already.

No look down the video...he fights ness in a one on one on onnett.

since when are up aerials auto canceled?/
Hate to break your heart man but look closer. He does the up air during the rising part of the jump. That move finished WELL before he lands and does the d-tilt.

Rising u-air, fast fall, land, d-tilt. It's easier to see if you make the youtube window big.

No. It's a u-air. I'm 100% sure. I just rewatched that part over and over to make sure. It's the same flip kick u-air from Melee. He finishes the move as he reaches the height of the jump. What you're mistaking for a d-air is simply a fast fall.

I was going to post a topic like this, but here's my two cents to add...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=9H9sZ7NvHh0

Compare his fair at 00:12 and 00:17. Technically that's STILL remotely close to L-cancelling, or so I would say.
No. They are both about 34-35 frames of landlag (which is 9-10 more than an un-lcancelled one in melee )

Edit: WOW, I take that back. It's 34-35. WTF

Forgive me if I misused the lingo. I thought that was the name for "the attack finishes before he hits the ground so he has no lag".

And yes, it is a u-air while he's rising, I recognize it from melee.

As for the Gannondorf vid, I don't see any difference. At 17 he doesn't jump right away, but he moves to a ready position at about the same time that he got to attack again with the other two F-airs.

Then it was my fault for using the term l-cancelling at all in my post. Guess I was rather looking at the attack animation rather than the landing. Bah, wishful thinking.

Whatever it is, I can assure you that there is no L canceling in Brawl.

Landing lag from aerials is determined on the type of aerial that is used.

EX: Landing during a Fair with Mario will get a good amount of landing lag. Landing with a Bair will get you very little lag.

Wow.

I'm wondering whether there is a new L-cancel, or whether we are just going to have to relearn which aerials have little lag.

Well, you can ASSUME its not L-canceling, but we haven't gotten the complete version of the game for ourselves and we have no way of testing anything. All we have is speculation on video's of n00bs.

Also, I would like to point out that while I'm aware that Kirby's Bair doesn't have a LOT of lag I CAN tell you that as a Kirby main I have never been able to Bair->tilt instantly, its just not possible. And lets not forget, he did the same thing with Nair as well.

Actually, I do believe I saw another video of Bowser doing a reverse neutral B. I mean, he was in the MIDDLE of his jump, and BAM, he pulled it out. It was a 1v1 on Smashville, but I'm not sure if it was the final released game or just a demo...

Anyway, just throwing that out there.

If you have the Corneria stage playable, would you be able to test it out with Kirby on Corneria for a minute or two landing with those aerials there? Hold shield so it'd be more obvious when it cancels if you do.
As in Melee Corneria?

Which aerials? And exactly are you looking for? I can give you exact details.
