So Wott's post was relatively helpful. Gonna just go with the flow. Will worry more about phases other than Morning when we're in them.

One thing that is still kind of tripping me up though is how scumhunting is actually intended to work in this game. No flips, and apparently we mainly eliminate scum by beating them in matches so they can't advance? How do we decide matches? And how do we decide byes based on no info? Anyone wanna give me the super Cliff's Notes on how that all unfolded on D1 and D2 (or at least D1)?

Very little of this game seems to be a mafia game.

Sparknotes verison of the game-
voting D1 went to joker for the bye, based on mechanic discussion he seemed pretty obvtownie.
Matches are decided by color wheel, each color beats those four counter clockwise from it iirc.
You pick two characters for each match, with the characters showing you their moves once you havce selected them, each character has three moves. Some have banned moves, which can only be used by mafia.
all the matches right now decide sseeding for the tournament, which the tourney cop can't get into unless he eliminates scum with his removal choice at the end of the first cycle.
A person who hgets bye'd gets to watch a match of their choice, giving them info related to that match.

Alright I'll give you that would be super ballsy in your thread position. Still the eyebrows have been wiggled in credulousness because I can see why it might be a play to try though risky.

At any rate it's interesting information if you're telling the truth. Though I'm not sure what exactly we can do with it immediately, I'll have to think about it and talk to the other head probably.

A little doubt never killed anyone when it came to testing waters that look like potential gambits.

What I'm left wondering is why a scum team who theoretically doesn't know each other (if they bothered texting Rake) and can only text message would waste a message only sending "..." You would think they would at least try and give Rake some kind of "do X if you're scum" message even if they were wrong and it backfired since he'd come to thread about it either way in the scenario he was town.

It makes me question the motives of sending it to Rake in the first place.

Gut agrees with Kanty that there's no reason for Rake to try to pull a gambit with something that frivolous ("Hey, I've got an idea! What if...nothing!"), but what would be the purpose of that from cell phone scum's POV? Is it confirmed that scum don't know who each other are? I don't see that in the rules and I can't imagine why that would be. If they don't know who each other are, can't communicate privately, and essentially have the same wincon we do (win matches), then how exactly can tells be dropped? That would basically just make them a smaller faction of townies with super powers.

Or is that not even something I should be worrying about?
