Chudat has played Kirby but it seems that he's picking up Shiek in serious sets. He's touched Rosalina a bit, too. It's much better for him in the long run since he's a sponsored players that needs to show consistent results at tournaments. So yeah, Kirby is in dire need of high level rep at this point. =\

It's actually a lot more earlier than that when you consider rage. =S
Other characters seem to kill Kirby at around 100% with a throw combo it's not even funny. Pikachu with u-throw>down-b and Luigi with d-throw>up-B (I'm fairly certain). So when you're around those percentages (late 90's, early 100's), DON'T GET GRABBED! >__<

I wish I could contribute but I'm still learning myself. =\

If there is one small thing I could contribute with is that the use of a sour spotted u-tilt is REALLY good. At low percents, it allowes you to squeeze in a little more damage in without knocking your opponent too far. This sets up for a short-hopped fast-falled u-air. This is incredibly useful for fast-fallers like Shiek, Greninja and Fox.

When I feel that a character starts getting thirsty for the throw KO, I start to hold jab when I feel like I'll get grabbed since attack beats grab in this game and jab is like Kirby's fastest move. Pivot tilts and pivot grabs are amazing, too.

I'm not good enough for a tournament otherwise I'd give it a try. I also don't like the idea of going to game tournaments. Especially by myself without the friend or escort. Maybe if I actually get good at the game in the long for seen future I'd like to try. Heck I wouldn't mind watching a tournament actually.

I'm having the worst time trying to learn short hopping. I feel like it's so important for Kirby cause he's got to bait and such but damn if I don't just consistently jump up high. I've read that I have to hit the button fast, and I am and can do it... but during the action, forget it! lol

Also... the online seems to be off all day today. Probably because SO many Wii Us are online now with Christmas and all. A friend's playstation was having trouble today as well so this might be across consoles, not sure. Guess I'll just play Captain Toad Treasure Tracker in the mean time.

yeah, I'm in the same boat when it comes to tournaments.
what I'd recommend trying to do when it comes to short hopping, is if you try hitting it fast enough for it to feel like you haven't touched the button. (Hard to explain.)
basically, go to training mode, and count how many times you short hop in succession. now, do just one short hop, and try to memorise how small a time-frame there was between touching the button, and releasing it.
set the A.I to attack, and, yet again, try short hopping. if you feel you've got the hang of it, add some movement alongside short hops, and once you've got the hang of that, throw some attacks in.

finally, go into a match against the CPU, setting them to level 4. try using short hopped aerials, such as Kirby's D-air. every time you finish a match with a certain amount of short hops, (for instance, 25.) increase the CPU's A.I level, to increase pressure.

with enough time, you'll get the hang of it.

If I want to shorthop, I don't tap the button. Instead i just quickly swipe my thumb over it, and that works for me!

My like list:
(Easy to wallop around and combo, as well as intercept and generally pester. Oh and let's not forget Fair spamming! Not even desperate Bowsercides can knock him off my list.)
(Some really interesting matches with Shiek. She'll usually win due to speed but is quite fun to play against since she lacks a lot of Kirby's KO power.)
(Floaty vs floaty. Can't combo her at all really, and she pretty much outclasses us in all ways but up special and F smash as far as I can see. Makes it interesting and extra special when you win.)
(Jump, float, and let him run around below you like a bloodlust-crazed hare. Great to watch.)
(Same as bowser, but will probably just spam Flare Blitz at some point. Even the good ones seem to struggle with Kirby.)

My hate list:
(Yep, thunder jolt. Okay, yeah, thund- oh look, another thunder jolt! Wow, variety really is the spice of life, huh?)
(Kirby is kinda vulnerable to projectiles. When there's about 700 aimed straight at you it gets wearisome- and when there's a massively powerful sword waiting once you do close the gap, you're in for a hell of a ride.)
(Speaking of gargantuan power, Ike is fun to bash around, but then gets two hits in and you're dead. All that work getting him to 130% and he wastes you at 50% anyway. Ugh.)
(In order to play as Ness, one must pass a sacred initiation ceremony in which one must prove themselves worthy to be recognised as NessKin; one of the Ness Brotherhood. Decades of training pour into that single pristine moment of irrepressible grace, poise and triumph.
Yeah, basically every Ness I've ever faced is god-tier and an unstoppable combo/KO machine. Once a single hit is in, you can kiss that stock goodbye, sweetheart.)

Hahaha, oh, man.
Sonic is just SO frustrating to fight. He'll combo you into oblivion, and his speed means Kirby will almost NEVER be able to tech-chase him.

Personally, I really like fighting against bowser and D.K, because their hitboxes are so large that I find them quite easy to combo.

Pikachu, on the other hand, just spams. Constantly. Granted, it can be easy to dodge in some cases, but the damage adds up quick, and sooner or later I find myself thinking "K.Oed already? How'd I get so much damage?"

Fighting Fox is just HILARIOUS! Cause the first thing a Fox user will do is spam their laser. Yet Kirby can duck under Fox's lasers, leading to an inevitable match where my opponent will fire for about 3 seconds, then stop and do nothing in stunned silence as they wonder why none of the lasers hit.

Like:
: Those that use Meta Knight this iteration have gained my respect.
: Generally some interesting matches.
: Often interesting matches. Those that know what they're doing are really good.
: Less spammers and generally fairly good players.
: Decent but very large and fairly easy to juggle sometimes

Dislike:
: Spam projectiles and smashes.
: ...everywhere.
: See Falcon + grab reach and duration.
: Spam. Using Dark Pit I am very disappointed.
: Spam again.
: Spam. My best character is Ness, and I hate seeing Nesses do this kind of stuff.
: Grab combos insane.
: Power insane + f-special lag cancel always throws me for a loop.
: SMASH SMASH SMASH SMASH SMASH SMASH SMASH COUNTER COUNTER COUNTER COUNTER!

Note: This is from my FG experience, which I've pretty much stopped doing now for the above reasons.

I agree with all of this. I want to add the devil and satan himself, Yoshi. I ****ing hate that dinosaur. Fast, able to follow you into the air, spam egg projectiles, and get exttra speedy with his egg roll. He's an overall pain in my ass.

I'd like to add Marth/Lucina. I don't have too much trouble with them in general but once in a while I'll meet someone who realizes that if they continually swing their swords about them, they make is super hard to approach. It's super annoying.

Bowser Jr./Koopalings. I just personally hate this character. My co-worker uses him, and I just dislike this guy. His mecha Koopa is so annoying. I hate the knockback it provides every time you forget to pay attention to it and miss grabbing it. I feel like this guy's smash's are so quick and powerful. I dunno. Maybe I'm not as familiar as I should be since he's a new character.

pretty good. got one for Christmas, (lucky me,) and, much like Tinkerttoy's amiibo, Kirby is proudly displayed on my desk.
now all I have to do is wait half a year for the 3DS amiibo adapter to come out, (rough guess of how long it'll be), and come up with a name for the fella.

I had all of these guys in the "hate" list actually, but omitted them coz it was getting too long.
But yeah, Yoshi is an absolute monster. My heart sinks a little when I see one in FG coz I know I'm in for a tough bout (and not the fun kind).

Bowser Jnr is hair-rippingly frustrating when he just spams the kart, mecha and up-B explodey thing. And you're right- his smashes are both quick and powerful. Annoyingly.

Math/Lucy aren't so bad but counter-spammers generally do my head in. I mean yeah, you can grab, but they have to be at massive damage to KO and the 5 min time limit in FG really works against you there.
