Dunno but when the times transformed back from the stone it looked like there was an invisible ceiling.

And I also just noticed that Kirby gets out of his rock animation faster than normal. Did you record this while using AR or something?

yeah, I got AR that night and we were messing around with it. I don't think this is related, though. the explanation given involves something about a slant in the stage in that specific area.

I defs blame it on your AR. Cancelling rock animation and side+b, as well as sliding could only be AR.
perhaps the momentum from your forward b was saved and when you did your rock it started up again?

Things that get saved often stop being saved when the character changes.

I have no idea.
